Laser hair removal on your scalp

Man! As tempting as it sounds having a smooth bald head and not having to worry about shaving, I'm still reluctant to do it in case I do want to regrow my hair. If I was balding, I would do it and not "fight" it.

There are a couple of guys on this board did have a full head of hair and decided to laser it all anyway I think they?re happy with their choice

I think I ran into a guy looking at YouTube who was 16 years old and did it and he?s still happy with the results 10 years later

Thanks for your support guys! The laser is Alexandrite and the settings have varied but in the 12-16 J range so far.

I have to say that the smooth clean bald head looks great to me! What have other people said? Have they noticed a difference? I do think that while most notice the hairline and shadow, many think of being bald as bald, whether you are shaved bald or naturally bald.
 
During the treatments, your head could be patchy. Did other people comment on this?
 
Did the technicians comment on whether you need follow-up sessions in the future?
 
I must say that the permanent smooth bald head looks good, and I may think about this treatment in the future (after careful consideration of course).

I stumbled into this group while researching this very question.  So far, I am very happy with the results my first laser experience. 

I'm naturally bald on top have shaved for over 10 years and now am having the remaining horeshoe fringe removed by laser.   The first treatment was 2 weeks ago (with a test patch done a week before that) and my hair is much lighter and thinner.  The shadow is much less pronounced when shaved and hardly noticeable even after a few days growth.  I'll post more later if anyone is interested... gotta get back to work.

Yes, please post more.  How old are you? What color was your hair? Do you know what kind of laser was used and can you post us some before during and after pictures?

I'm 37 years old and have a full head of hair.

After eight years of shaving, I'd had enough of shaving every day and I'm fed up with the five-hour stubble. So I decided to try laser hair removal. The first session was last Saturday.

How many sessions do you have planned?

I assume your hair is dark based on the shadow in your photo.  Do you have any gray mixed in?

Between 8 and 12 laser sessions are planned.

I have a few white and gray hairs, but not many. That's also why I wanted to start now and not wait any longer.
