Your symptoms sound very unusual.  Perhaps you should try another provider and/or a different laser.  There are a lot of laser hair removal places that don't seem to know what they're doing.  I think that some of the scary pictures on this board come from poorly performed procedures.

(Things are good with me.  I'd like to upload some pics, but can't even get the site to update my avatar.  I'm not computer illiterate, so I don't know what the problem is...)

Common, put them somewhere else, and then link to it.

You didn't recieve IPL though, right? You (or someone else) mentioned hair being removed evenly (and needing a different laser because of dark skin). It seems that the procedure (or method) for IPL is the same across the board in terms of the "checkered board" or spotty lasering.

I would love to see some pics

I think the checkerboard is more a result of operator skill and patience than anything inherent in the laser.  I read somewhere that some experienced operators actually draw a grid on the person's head to make sure they cover all the spots evenly.  My take is that operator skill varies GREATLY.

I just took these with my (crappy) cell phone.  I haven't shaved for two days.

By the way, thanks to http://jpeg-optimizer.com/ for making these shots small enough to upload here.

Looks smooth and clean, Common.  And, that's after 2 days?  Very nice.

I'm so pissed right now.  I missed my first appointment today because my car wouldn't start thanks to some fault in the alarm system.  Now I have to wait three more weeks.  I even had my head all numbed up in back and ready to go.  Grrr... :Xo!

Thanx for the pics. Looks pretty good. How many treatments do you plan to execute more?

I plan to do another one or two treatments until all of the hair is gone.  There are no patches anymore, but a few random hairs here and there.  It looks nice now, shaves VERY easily, and only requires occasional shaving.  I'm pleased with the results to date.  From my standpoint, the only reason not to do this treatment is the pain.

I'm curious to try the Duet treatment.  Maybe I'll do that next time...

Is IPL just as painful as the standard laser treatment?

Thanks for the kind words, gents.  I've done seven treatments.  All of the treatments were painful.  The first was the worst.

It was totally worth it.

It's awesome seeing such a successful case.

I have a question for anyone who's had a particularly brutal laser session.   What's the longest it took for the redness/irritation/discoloring to go down?  It's been 3 weeks since my aborted session, and it still looks terrible.  It doesn't hurt, though.

For me its usually about 7-14 days then it looks normal. I do get itchy bumps (spots) as well sometimes that last a few weeks. But are not visible and do not itch unless i rub my head or aggrevate it in sme way.
