Welcome aboard.  My wife loves it.  I surprised her one night after my shower.  I wasn't losing my hair, just going gray at an alarming rate.  She loves it.

Glad to have you here.

O0 Welcome, Drew. You've found the best site for slick domes, present and to-be. Psych yourself: feel the honesty, coolness, and boldness of the shaved dome and then, when you're convinced of it enough to smile in self-satisfaction, tell your wife what a turn-on her hand caressing your dome would be. I agree with the suggestion that you point out how many male celebs, athletes, icons wear the look to her. I am old enough to remember when skinheadedness was not mainstream, but you do not have that problem. Let us know whether you decide to go slow or take the plunge all at once. Best, Professor Melon

My wife didn't like it at first, but after a few days she admitted thats its growing on her. She even has a new nickname for me (burly bear). I think the more your wife hears positive feedback from others (you WILL get a lot of compliments), it will help get past her initial shock. But maybe you'll be lucky like GASlick, and your wife will love it from the start. There's only one way to find out.

Drew, welcome to the fam.  A lot of people are afraid of change but it sounds like you're ready to take the plunge.  Go for it, wear it proudly, see how she adapts.  Best of luck and keep us posted.

I can understand your wife's reluctance - but try to get her to let you try the "30 day rule" - scrape that noggin clean for 30 days, and talk about it at the end of the 30 days and see how you both feel about it. Chances are great she'll end up loving the years it shaves off your appearance (I have yet to see a single set of before and after pics on this forum where the person looked older after shaving. In most cases, it makes the person look 5-10 years younger!) I'd be willing to bet in 30 days, you're both converts! O0

Hey, thanks for all the messages from all of you.  All you guys look sharp as sly guys.  I hope I look half as good.   8)  I was just thinking of how I feel like I'm a slave to the hair unit thing.  The other day I went to the Lagoon Park in Salt Lake City.  I wanted to ride one of their new rides called Wicked.  I tried to get in for a service on my hair since it was way loose before going.  Since I couldn't get an appointment, I had to skip riding Wicked.   :Xo!  So anyway, it looks like my wife has decided it is my choice on what I do.  She told her mom that I was talking about shaving my head and said it's my head if I wanted to do it.  All I gotta do now is wait until the hair unit loosens up some so I can shave it off.   O0  Peace!

Drewbull: Go forth confidently and she'll be ok w/ it.  After 2 years of wearing a 'system' I got rid of it and have never looked back.

Get a good gel like Bald Guyz gel, or a good cream like Head Slick.  I use a Fusion and it works great as long as I use short strokes and keep the dome wet.

Good luck man!
(BaldGuyz gel + Gillette Fusion) - hair = a beautiful thing!

I made the move and shaved it all off.  I'm now one of the sly guy crew.  O:O  Yes I will post a pic when I get a chance.  I have got some mixed reviews from friends and co-workers.  The funny thing is most of the ladies, with the exception of my wife, like the new look.  As for me, I still am getting used to the look on me.  I do like the feel of it.  Thanks to all you bros for all the advice and encouragement.  Peace!  YR*(k

Man, great move.  I know you will be much happier with the new look.  Welcome aboard Drew.  Think of all the extra time you will have to spend with the wife and family now that the rug is history.
