I met a girl! I met a girl! ... but one problem...
« on: October 12, 2008, 11:39:57 AM »
So, after my show at the Improv on Wednesday, I was outside talking to fans, and there was this girl standing by the door, just not doing anything. Then my friend (the comedian who I stay with when I'm in Pittsburgh) came up to me and said "Dude, this girl has been standing there checking you out this whole time." So I kind of glanced over without it being known that I can see her (yay for aviators), and she was standing there playing with her hair and biting her lip. So I went over and started talking to her. She rubbed my head and said that I was beautiful (aaaawwwe). We're both incredibly shy, so it was extremely awkward, and my friend was basically coaching both of us. We exchanged numbers, and she was sending me messages all night. Then she left her phone in class the next day, so she started sending me messages on Facebook. Then she got her phone back and was sending me messages on there again. I went and hung out with her before going back home, and she sent me a message saying "I really enjoy being around you."

Then last night, we talked on the phone pretty much all night, and after we got off, she sent me a message saying "So you basically amaze me."

At this point, I figure that I'm pretty much in. Then, it comes to my attention that she's 17. I'm 20, so this is still legal, and she'll be 18 in a month, so not really that big of a deal. In any case, should I let this age difference affect the potential relationship? Should I take things slow and wait until her 18th birthday before I make any big moves?

Every strong relationship starts with a solid friendship.
I think that's what you should keep in mind.

Good luck and congrats!

Yeah, just become friends with her.  You should naturally know if things are ready to progress.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

I agree with everyone else who has posted thus far. Become friends and let things develop over time.

I would definately wait before she stays the night  ;)
Plus, its only a month, so enjoy the "play" time and don't rush it. Get a feel for who she really is, if she is infactuated with you it may make it difficult to get a good read. You need space for your career you are pursuing so make sure she's able to handle that.
Other than that, congrats man.  O0

Congrats TM! Slow and easy... 2-3 years age difference is nothing!
