Wanna take it down--girlfriend isn't so sure...
« on: October 07, 2008, 06:57:40 PM »
So I am heading into the fire academy in January and I'll have to cut my hair considerably shorter than it is now.  I was thinking I wanted to take it down with a clippers on the sides and sport a mohawk for a while (just to say that I've done it)--but when I ran the idea of taking all my hair off my girlfriend gave me that 'look'.  What do you guys think?  She gave me the whole "I'll still LOVE you the same I just don't think its a good idea" line.

I have always worn my hair long--but I have a receding hairline, a widows peak, and my hair is very thin so wearing it long just makes it look stringy. . .

I used to wear long hair with the serious widow's peak.  The morning after i shaved it off, i went to my sisters and hovered over her bed as i woke her up, she nearly messed her pants.  but has come to love the shiny dome.  my friends like it, some have a hard time getting used to it, my employer liked that i made everybody else look like they aren't balding, my girlfriend, well don't have a steady one, but most girls i meet like it.

I say shave it clean and let her rub your head, she will most likely change her mind.  women LOVE to rub a bald noggin.

I agree with my friend from the great state of Montana. I had long hair in college; thinned out and got tranplants and am now pretty much bald. Keep it smooth.

Gah.. I just had a talk with some friends and my parents.  They made a good point.  I really wouldn't appreciate it if my girlfriend cut her hair--she has the MOST BEAUTIFUL long hair ever, and a few times I have expressed my dislike for the idea of her cutting it short.  She probably wouldn't appreciate it if I took all my hair off either.

EDIT:  I just talked to her--she says do what I want ha ha.... hmm...

You should appreciate anything that makes your girlfriend happy (appearance wise) as she should with you.
