If anything I believe shaveing and washing the scalp would be a healthier environment for the hair folicles but I don't think it effects the balding process in any way.  I strongly feel that balding is an evolutionary process.

Hair has one agenda; you might hope for another, but if it's slated to go, it's goin', and whatever you think might be reversing its flight...well, maybe. Uh, huh.

It's the halfway folk that look "bald," not those of us SLY.  SLY is really not being bald, it's a (can I say this?) "hair style."  I'm BBC and shadowless (white hair) and am sorry I did not begin to go bald young, since then I'd have shaved it sooner.  At the gym, waiting for the pool to open, I tried to convince a horseshoe chap (more hair on his back than his head) to go all the way, but he said his wife said (he must have suggested it) that he "would look like Uncle Festus."  Wrong answer!

I've said it once or twice here, but it's not what's on top of your head that counts, but what's in it.

My theory is that the longer it got, the more weight was there for it to fall out...but it was still falling out so it really doesn't matter to me.

I just remember that episode of Seinfeld when Elaine is dating that BBC guy and he freaks out once he realizes that he was losing his hair after all...if only Elaine didn't ask...

Bizarre as it sounds, it can be kind of a shock to notice that the hair isn't growing back. I was amazed when I got sick about two years ago and didn't shave for a couple of days at how bald I'd become.  Also, if I ever shave late in the day and my head isn't getting velcro-y by bedtime, it always feels a little strange -- nice, but strange.

Great Episode. Maybe someone will need a bald expert and call me in some day.
