Been watching it on Fox News. I'm glad they did SOMETHING!
I e-mailed my representatives and voiced my political opinions last week, not appropriate here. LOL

Typical DC politics -- this bail out plan includes tax breaks for companies which make wooden arrows for kid's bow & arrow sets (no, I'm not kidding) and tax breaks for companies doing 'wool' research... not exactly what one should expect in a piece of legislation addressing woes in the banking/financial industries. Throw in vote buying schemes for campaign contributors, and our elected representatives will vote for anything and leave the tax payers holding the bag. They should call this the 'Screw the Responsible Tax Payers Who Don't Make Foolish Financial Decisions Act.'

The House plan that went down in flames was 100 some odd pages; this one passed by the Senate has 450 pages, and I'd be willing to bet not one of them has read it completely. We need term limits so that citizens actually serve the nation, make responsible decisions for the country, and then go back into the private sector. Our founding fathers never envisioned lifetime representatives and senators whose main concern is not doing what's best for the country, but doing whatever it takes to ensure their reelection. Ok, I'll shut up now.

I agree with the term limits. The President has them and everyone else should also, but I doubt if it will ever happen .

Term limits just shortens the amount of time they have available for stealing from us.

Yup ... the "bail out" plan is full of pork. I agree completely on the term limits. Our politicians (both sides) have failed miserably.

So let's see, congress de-regulates this whole industry which leads directly to what is happening now which is why we have to foot the bill for $700Billion to pay for wooden arrows for kiddie bows (I read the same thing) among other crap. And my fervent belief is that we're polishing the brass on the Titanic. I hope the DC D!ckhead$ are proud of themselves for what they have done to this country. The next time I hear one of them use the term "patriot" I swear to god I'm gonna puke on his shoes.

Like all of you I hear plenty of people complaining about this bailout plan. I hate it too, and voiced my discontent by emailing my congressman and both senators (one of which is Obama) stating that they needed to vote against the plan and to remember that we too will be voting in November. With another vote looming tonight, I will be back on the web emailing again tonight and encouraging family and friends to do the same. Just curious, how many of the sly brothers have gotten their message to THEIR congressional idiot?
