Hey Andy, welcome to Sly Bald Guys.  Most of the guys here have gone through the same thing your going through and plenty of them started at your age.  You're never going to know what you look like bald without actually shaving your head.  I'd say if you're really worried about your thinning hair do like we have and just get rid of it by shaving it off.

Hey Andy, welcome to the boards.

Being 19 is a great time to shave your head.  It's a popular look these days.

Everybody goes through that anxiety of not know if their head will look good shaved.  Look at the avatars on this board.  No one here looks bad with a shaved head.  You won't either.

If you haven't yet, check out the forums for other people on the fence.  Almost always the end is: "Why didn't I do this sooner?".  It's an awesome feeling and theres enough people that loved their shaved heads to create an active forum about it!

Hi Andy,

I also couldnt grow it back because it would look rubbish.

I'm not grokking that. If you don't like the sly look (and I'm willing to bet you'll love it) you can grow it back to just the way it is now. Why the concern?

Or, if it's just that you think it looks like rubbish now, what have you got to lose by taking it off?

Andy - 19 is the age to do it !

Nice distraction Ben, who cares about going bald when you can use it as an excuse to have a nice chilled bottle of Miller lol

Andy, like my wise SLY brothers have said, if you don't like it now, what harm would it do to shave it all off and see what it looks like. O:O Take the SBG 30 day challenge. Shave you head for 30 days and see how you and all the hot honeys that will be flocking around you just to rub your slick, smooth head, like it. Chances are, on the 31st day you'll continue to shve that bad boy smooth. 8) O0
Tis better to have a bald head than no head at all.

maybe this spot is a bit silly. but all it wants to say is (though i know it isn't easy)
thinking too much about hairloss is no solution, it can drives you crazy someday.

one good point to think about is, whats the alternativ, a hairstransplant, taking pills,
a wig, wearing a had, what ever. in every case u will spent a lot of money, and it will
control your whole life. the conclusion (my conclusion) is learing how to deal with it and
to forget all worries. live our life and try to be happy (even though going bald)

oh, btw i still trying to learn how to deal with it .... ;-)
but i'm sure that the best way.

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

That are my points i thought about. maybe it will help someone out there.

(ps, ... my english isn't perfect ;)) ???

Take baby steps Andy.  Buy some clippers and buzz your head with the different guards.  Try a #3, then a #2,  then a #1 (no guard).  Then go sly if you wanna  O:O

The confidence is all with the person, not the hair.  But not having to worry about thinning does help.

Dont know what the climate is like here, but I hope they dont cos im gay.  Wonder what the guys will think tho.

Regardless, im sure you are right.  Maybe just start with a bazz at no4/3.
