Gas Prices
« on: January 09, 2007, 05:28:44 PM »
A sore subject I know, but I'm curious what they are around the country, and across the pond too.

I got gas today at lunch for $1.99 per gallon

I was only gonna get $20 but ended up fillin the tank instead. (gage doesn't work, so I just toss a little in every week)

The shell station down the street from my office is $3.05 for 87 octane.  Though, the station across the street is around $2.60 for the same thing.

WOW $2 a Gallon!!!!

Difficult to translate as petrol is so expensive here that they started working in Ltrs, but in the UK we are at around 0.90p per Litre which i think is perhaps around $1.50, I believe that a gallon is now over £4.00 I know that it costs around 13p a mile to travel around here.

It is a bone of contention here because the vast majority of it is duty, yet we pay Road Tax also of around £150 per year.

Yep now they are talking about charging us by the mile to reduce congestion.  Too many cars not enough country!!

But the problem is public transport is a bit ropy too.

A US friend of mine was complaining last year that gas prices were creeping towards 3 bucks a gallon, I had to tell him to STFU as I was paying $6.5/gallon at the time (in Finland).

Am paying about $5/gallon at the moment. That's assuming my calculations are right. (just over 1€ per litre)
