I get stares while in restuarants while I am with my wife... I get smiles from other ladies, while I'm with my wife.. etc etc etc.  One thing for sure we are more aware of people looking at us.... "Oh are they looking at me, etc"

Get used to it and feel free my friend, your still getting used to it and feeling what we have all felt.  Me, I'm the type that just plain don't give a rip what others think about me, or my head.

We all have been thru that.  The first time I walked into our every friday night hang out pizza joint...I thought everyone was looking at me.  Well, they were actually, because it seems like its the same ol people in there every Friday night.  I even got my first head rub in there that night.
You just get use to it.
Honestly...there are days when I am out doing something and I forget all about having a slick noggin....it just feels natural.

A good friend of mine has spent alot of money trying to restore his hair loss with trasplants that just plain look terrible, and you can tell.  He actually thinks, my head looks great with the SBG look, what I term as SBGLBC or for those that need it spelled out "Sly Bald Guy Lifestyle by Choice"

We are what we are by choice, and there are those out there that just can't stand that because they like to live in a controled type of lifestyle.

"Oh I can't do that my wife won't let me"

or

"People will look at me funny, I can't do that to myself"

or

"What will my friends think?"

Don't let your freinds control who you want to be, and to hell with what everyone else thinks.

i first lather shaved my head in 1983 and was on active duty in the Army at the time.  Never got much reaction but do remember one officer commenting to me that he wondering when I was finally going to start shaving daily.  I was just going to the barber and getting peeled with no guard once a week.

Don't think of yourself as a stranger, people are just too stuborn or narrow minded in your age, even older people are that. You think yourself as a stranger because you have no one to relate to. I mean, as i said in the other thread the *world* is bigger than your school or where you live. I don't think you feel like a stranger here, right? There are people like you even though we live in different places and some are older/younger than yourself. And this forum is just one place.

I have always wanted to be *different* or true to myself because people/my friends have thought of me as a stranger. Next time I see anyone of my old friends, and they ask me how I'm doing. I'm gonna say something *I'm glad I broke up from you guys. I feel so much more like myself now and I don't have to worry what you are thinking of me.*

I don't feel as a stranger anymore, just far away from home.
I can still be the one, Im dreaming about and I dont need my hair to become him!

I think this little story illustrates the attitude you need to have when dealing with people who try to influence anyone's decision to be sly:

An old man, a boy & a donkey were going to town.
The boy rode on the donkey & the old man walked.
As they went along they passed some people
who remarked it was a shame the old man
was walking and the boy was riding.

The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right,
so they changed positions.

Then, later, they passed some people who remarked,
'What a shame, he makes that little boy walk.'
So they then decided they'd both walk!

Soon they passed some more people who thought
they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride.
So, they both rode the donkey.

Now they passed some people who shamed them by saying how awful to
put such a load on a poor donkey.
The boy and man figured they were probably right, so they decide to carry the donkey.

As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.

The moral of the story?
If you try to please everyone, you might as well...

Kiss your ass goodbye!
