My House is Under Contract
« on: July 04, 2008, 11:32:37 AM »
Last night we received 2 offers for our house which has been on the market for 6 weeks.  During that time, I dropped my price 3 times, following my agent's advice in getting my price as close as possible to what I'm willing to take.  Well, she was right, as once I reached a certain level they came pouring out of the woodwork.  Yesterday we had 6 showings and 2 offers.  I think the flurry of activity was due to people realizing this is their last chance to lock in a deal and still move in before school starts.

We're making an offer (I think) on a house tomorrow. If that doesn't work out, we'll be moving into the Marriot for an extended stay, which will suck ....   Our buyers require a 6-week closing, so we're starting to pack today.

Hey.thats great news.Sorry you will have to be displaced for a bit. That is a pain. The market is slowly starting to turn here in Myrtle Beach, SC. The last two years it really took a nosedive and realtors were exiting the industry in droves.
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

That's Great, Andrew !!

The timing thing with selling and buying is ALWAYS tricky.....extended stays aren't ideal, but the accomodations can be pretty cool...especially if you have maid service.

We had to stay in an extended stay for 3 months back in 2001...pool, fitness facilities, maid service, it wasn't all that bad.
