St. Louis, MO to Boston, MA by myself years ago.  I planned on stopping somewhere in PA, but in the middle of the night, I just couldn't find a decent place to stay.  So I just kept going... what an idiot.  I just chalk it up to being a foolish 20-something single guy.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Man I have done my share of road trips...all on the gray hound bus!!!!!

Jdoggy and I have done.....

NYC to Ohio
Ohio to New Orleans
New Orleans to Texas

We were meant to to do Texas to Vegas but I could not cope with any more long ass trips on that bus, so we caught a flight.

Then we did Vegas to Flagstaff Arizona I think?? then Flagstaff to LA - I cant fully remember was a few years ago, but add all these bus rides up!!!

I think the worst one was NYC to Ohio cos is was freezing!!!!!! Ohio to New Orleans was long but I think I recall sleeping a little.

All the bus rides had about a million stops to pick up people, stop for food etc so it took way longer then just driving it, then add snow conditions, engine problems.

I swear I will never get back on a gray hound bus as long as I live.

I learned to sleep with one eye open!!!!!!!!!!!

In 2002 I drove from Seattle to Salt Lake City to attend the Winter Olympics.  My best friend and my nephew were with me.  The trip took 14 hours and we had one dinner stop, otherwise it was just gas and bathroom breaks change of driver breaks.

New Orleans to Charlottesville, VA, 985, 14 1/2 hours, gas and necessity stops only, and the reverse a couple of times.  Daughter was in UVA, so we'd start early, appox 5a, and be at the table Beefeater Martinis in hand by 8p!  Those drinks tasted damn good after that run.  On the reverse we did it when we realized that we "only" had five hours to go, it was Sunday and no drinks in Alabama on the "Lord's Day."  For people from Louisiana, that was an absolutely pagan idea!

Every year I drive from my house to Montana which is just under 1000 miles.  I love that drive.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Not counting the horrible Greyhound bus trips that my Better Half mentioned, The longest single road trip I have done is Sydney to tropical Mackay Queensland to deliver 2 hot tubs.

The trip was just under 1100 miles and took me a total of about 18 hours which I drove nearly straight through, only stopping for bathroom breaks. Ate lunch on the road. My employers were nice enough to let me stay up there for an extra week, paid for accomodation and expenses. The drive back was quicker as I was towing about a ton less weight(16 hours).

NAS Pennsacola to north suburbs of Chicago.  I had just completed aircrew candidate school and only had 10 days leave and didn't want to waste any time.  Since I didn't get on the road till 1:00 in the afternoon, by the time I got home I was actually seeing things in the road that weren't there!  Don't think I will ever take that long a trip alone again.

Long, long time ago... 35 hours from Needles, CA to Mid-Michigan!!  I slept for about 18 straight hours afterwards...

After that, the longest I used to make was when I'd go home on leave... about 15 hours from Norfolk, VA to Mid-Michigan.

A long, long time ago, a college friend and I left Columbus, Ohio on a Sunday morning and pulled in at a friend's place in Victorville, California on Monday night.  35 hours and 47 minutes... in an AMC Hornet...
