You know, I had to look up safety razor because I had no idea what you were talking about. I had confused the terminology. I used to short-hand it and say Bic but that isn't accurate either because I use Schick. But I have been mistakingly calling these razors straight razors and no one had corrected me until now. SO I looked up straight razor and I see why there is confusion. I don't know how I picked up that incorrect terminology but in the back of my mind I knew it. I suppose the general category of razor that I use could also be considered disposable razors. In any event, I appreciate the correction.
Strait razor...OMG
What else is there? Crooked razors?
Funny.hahaha. Most people use a safety razor not a strait razor. I know, I know, your not most people.
I had a hunch it was something like that. Welcome to the group.

I use the method as described where i shave first, then use the electric on my head. After that i use the Bic Sensor 3 in the shower with the same procedure shaving with the grain, then against and finally feeling for rough patches.
Works splendid!!!
I have been using Head Shed for an exfoliant and then after grooming my moustache with balm and such,i apply BaldGuyz moisture gel.It smells good and does the job.
I didn't care for the smell of the Head Gear lubricants. So until i find something else,i will stick with Baldguyz.
Thanks for the tips!!

I think BA is confusin' Willis with Billy Zane.
BA's never quite forgiven Zane for throwing away his headblade.
Now that's what I call old. Even's getting an old man's gut.

But you have to admit he's still keeping comapny w. some awesome dames.

Good post, until I saw the correction I was thinking.. "This guy shaves with his eyes closed with a straight razor!?!?!"
Anyway, I NEVER shave before a shower, it just pushed dirt and other stuff into your pours and the hair on your face never gets a soft enough IMO. I think the best recipe for razor burn is sink shaving before a shower.
I have found a clean head and face that has been softened up with hot water in the shower produces the best shave. Shaving in the shower keeps the razor clean and the skin hydrated, not to mention it is easier clean up.

That's interesting. So I guess we should have a poll if people think a shave is better before or after a shower. Like I said, I copied my dad growing up and that is how he did it. He never had any problems and neither have I but like I also said, I prefer the shower shave. If you think about, guys do the equivalent of exfoliating everyday. No wonder we age more gracefully.

You're right BA!

With that 'detail' showin' Willis looks OLD.
I'm heading to the shower and giving my noggin a thorough scraping before dinner. Don't want my wife to see a velcro head and have her lose her appetite.
