Match.com has been around for a long time...
It is a great online dating site and if I'm not mistaken, the biggest!
The greatest benefit is that most members have pictures up. While love is blind, attraction is not. It's always good to see the picture because honestly, no matter how cool they seem in their profile, if their picture doesn't cause a spark, chances are there won't be attraction in person (obviously this isn't always the case).
When creating a profile, be honest!!!! Don't even tell little white lies, because it could turn around and bite you down the road. Also, choose current pictures to post.
The next step is to start searching. When setting up your search, check off everything that you want. Now, if you're too picky, you might not get any matches. So, if the color of her hair really doesn't matter, check any. But if you want a woman that doesn't smoke and it really matters, then check "No Way"! But also be open to traits that you might not have considered before.
Match.com also does a mutual and reverse matching for you, based on the statements in your profile.

I agree with you that honesty is the best policy. With that being said, don't be too honest about yourself. Be vague on some things so that when you do get a date you have somehting to talk about.
If you compete in professional surfing, don't write that. Just write you enjoy surfing, then when on the date you "wow" her with the fact that you comete professionally. It also keeps you from falling into the trap of bragging.

Also, don't be boring in your profile. In online dating WOMEN HAVE THE ADVANTAGE. They get 5 e-mails to every one that a guy gets. So when they see your profile, be unique or funny.
Don't write that you are a "nice guy" or looking for a "nice girl" or that you are looking for the "right person"

Think of it as on-line marketing, not dating. Make people want to talk to you.

i find the Booty Call works best for me! lol to hell with dating..there's plenty of women out there that just want to get laid just like us guys do....now not everyone of them will be model material lol so you may have to hit a big chick or an older chick every now and then.
