Who Here Has An iPod??

If anyone on this forum has an iPod, keep a close eye on if it is ever getting hot. I have had an iPod Nano 3G 4Gig for just under a year. A buddy of mine got it on his credit for me, because I could not afford it at the time, and I paid him back in small payments. Anyways, I have had it just under 9 months, and a couple days ago my battery overheated, causing my screen to crack I was extremely pissed, but was even more pissed after I called the people at iPod. Fun bunch of people to talk to. They told me on the phone that it was not covered under warranty, even though the people were I bought it from told me it was. I called them and nicely explained what happened. They told me I must have done it on purpouse, they had no recalls of any problems like mine. They wanted me to pay $50 for them to send me a box to put it in, and send it to them, then another $50 to get it sent back to me, plus like $200 just to fix the screen, when it only cost me $159.99+tax to purchase it brand new. I had to talk to like 20 different people until I got this one chick who I guess got an iPhone when they first came out, had it no longer than a day, and the battery overheated on hers and her screen cracked. But since she worked for iPod, it was very easy for her to get a refund (must be nice) and thanks to her they are shipping me a new one as I am typing this out! So keep an eye out for anyone who has an iPod, and if you ever have a problem like mine dont let those people at Apple dick you around!!

i have a nano. ive never had that problem before thankfully. although i have problems at times where my ipod just freezes and i cant do anything until the battery dies.

If the iPod freezes, you dont have to let the battery die, just press and hold the Menu+Center buttons and it will shut off. I have had mine just under 9 months, and was pissed when it overheated and my screen cracked. Just thankfully the last chick I talked to had the same problem as me with her iPhone and sent me a new one.

We're a 3 iPod family and haven't had any problems.  My daughter gave my wife her 2g nano when she got her 3g nano about a year ago.   My daughter uses hers way too much and is very hard on stuff.  Both her old and new ones continue to work perfectly, as does mine which is the least-used of the 3.

Ya I have herd about it too. I actually saw a video on youtube. somebody's iPod was vibrating on the table and they started recording when it happened, and the back flew clean off and the battery was melting and popping on the inside. Mine was just getting overheated, and the screen cracked.

I love iPod products, I was just shocked when my screen cracked from an overheating battery. Altho I hear ya, my nano is like my life as well. It sucks because for the next couple weeks i will be without one. I like to use my iPod when I am on the buss to drown some of the annoying and ridiculous chatter some morons like to have. One day I forgot it and these 2 drunk chicks got on the buss with a opened 40oz bottle of captain morgan, chugging away, and they were annoying the sh*t out of me. I was wishing I never forgot it that day!

Yea man same here, Ipod products are awesome. Thats horrible the screen cracked from an overheating battery, first time I've heard that happen. Just realize how great it will feel when you finally get a brand new Ipod, good luck brother.

Ya I have never herd of anything like it until it happened to me lol. Altho when I called iPod to figure things out, the last chick I talked to who is sending me the new iPod had the same thing happen to her, except with her iPhone. And I kno what u mean, as soon as my new iPod comes I will be doing my million dollar happy dance! lol
