First off hello everyone, great to see there is a forum dedicated to bald! I am 21 years old and started losing my hear at the ripe age of 18. I discovered the curse known as Toppik and for 4 years I blew paycheck after paycheck on little black sprinkles, giving me false hope. I just couldn't take it anymore and today I buzzed it, no guard and its realllllly short. My folks say they can't tell I'm going bald but there is plenty of scalp to see.
It was alot of emotion taking it off, losing your hair is rough, especially when you're young and used to hanging out in the pool and so on. My dad who went bald when he was my age has always been encouraging and telling me to embrace it. So embrace I did so here I am

My last hurtle is going to be work, we have a viscous crew there, and I am trying to amass as many comebacks to the insults they're gonna throw my away. All in all I feel free for the first time in 4 years and I can finally throw the Toppik away!

Welcome Horrormike, sounds like you made the same move so many of us have made, congrats. Just like anything else in life, you can love it for what it is, or hate if for what you think it should be... you made the right decision and saved yourself alot of pain, heartache and money.
Anyway, I cant provide you with a bunch of comebacks for your co-workers but I think if you just be yourself you will be fine. Sure you will get some razzing but hey, everyone has to take some lumps here and there... just stay confident and shoot from the hip.

Hey Man! I'm brand new here too, and just shaved it about a week and a half ago. I was nervous as hell about work also. Let me just say that youll have butterflys going in, and then you get the reactions... you will be definatly drawing attention to yourself. Funny thing is, after an hour or so, your confidence is so elevated that the reactions start to be FUN.

Awsome step you took man. The feeling of freedom is amazing.

Hey Mike.
Tell 'em "The less hair you have, the more head you get".
Just be confident, be yourself, and everything will be awesome. Plus, what are you going to do with all the money you're saving not buying those Toppik Chocolate sprinkles?
Cheers,
Schro

You might be surprised and find that you don't get any razzing. You get a lot of that when you're losing your hair, but after you shave it all off the wisecracks tend to stop coming.

Welcome Mike, great to have you here. Just walk into work with you head high and a confident air, they start to open their mouths, just stare 'em down. Ask how many of them have the gonads to come to work looking sly.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I feel liek a 2390548239044 pound weight has been lifted off my head (Toppik does tend to be a tad bit heavy.) Razzing is to be expected, i always say if you cant take it don't dish it, so i'll take it all with strides and smiles. Anymore comebacks I love the ones I've read so far!
As for the money I save, I was dropping, drum roll, $95 a month on the choclate sprinkles. Sheesh what a tool

I have always wanted to get into airbrushing, so maybbeeee i'll pick one out next week.

As the night goes on and I am getting more comfortable with my new look I am starting to care less and less with the bozos at work are going to say (a good chunk of them with combovers might i add).
I notcied my driving cap looks really really nice with a shaved head and my neighbor asked if i was going with the traditional skinhead look lol.

Ignore the skinhead references.
Also, don't forget sunscreen.

Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new here myself, only been shaving my head for about a month. So far 95% of the feedback I've gotten has been positive. I was expecting a lot of jokes and wisecracks, but it never came. My mom, of all people, said that I looked like a serial killer, but that's as bad as it got. People at work loved it and immediately started talking about doing it themselves.
