I was thinking, maybe some of the gals were uncomfortable with shaving your head because they might of thought it was somthing that was more appropriate for a wife or girlfriend to do.  While I am not saying that your motive was sexual, they might have thought that it was.  Just my 2 cents worth.  But it does sound kind of fun none the less!

I gotta hand it to David for confidently moving forward and getting a fairly positive response...

But aren't you REALLY asking THEM to do YOU a favor?

I mean, if I go to my wife and say, "I have a very special gift for you, honey....can you guess what it is?"  Meanwhile she gets a twinkle of expectation in her eye.  Then I say, "I'm going to let you give me a back rub."

Her nose crinkles and her brow furrows and she logically asserts, "Sweetie, if you want a back rub....just ask me....but don't think you're doing ME a favor."

Now, maybe head shaving is different somehow......but do you see where I'm a little confused?  Hey, maybe I'm just an old timer who isn't up on what turns young girls on.

Welcome to the group, jbw!  That is an awful deal about your wife.  I have a buddy whose wife pulled the same crap after 8 years of marriage and 12 years of relationship while he was away at the career course for the army (the weekend before a major presentation that was 30% of grad req).

Hey David, I think what some guys are saying here is that you definitely get the A in confidence, but you might want to considered how you word things.  Instead of "I have a Christmas present for you... shave my head" call it a "great surprise opportunity."  Then explain how the gesture shows your trust to them.

Hey Guyz just wanted to put my 2 cents in....I am a first time poster and am glad I finally found a place to hang.....I used to keep what little hair i had cropped close and it was cool and everything but then I was tired of going to the barber and figured why not (also my life was changing as my  wife of 21 years gets ready to toss me out, says she does not love me anymore...lol....whatever....) so I decided to shave it all off and it has been the best decision of my life....I am loving it.....

David...the tanning salon sounds great and that one lady sounds fine for agreeing to shave it for you......

I'm one of the confused guys trying to figure out David's plan.  Not knocking his plan, but I don't think that's something I'd ever think of doing.

I'd save that for either a very close female friend or a girlfriend/wife.  Otherwise I'd fear that I might freak out the women.

Like, at a fund raiser, would she vigorously out-bid other tantalized and captivated females for the rare treat of shaving a guy's head.

Unless there are women out there that have a head shaving fetish!  But I don't think hitting random women seeking out those who want to indulge in this ritual is a wise idea. 

Hence the reaction of woman number 2 in his story.  Might cause a feeling of uncomfort.

Just as an update, the girl who was willing to do it asked me yesterday about this site(as I had told her about it/wore the shirt once there I think).    Thought it was worth mentioning.   It wasn't prompted or anything either.
