I first shade my head in January. Winter here. It was much better than expected for temperatures. Now that we are approaching summer, and the AC is on in the commercial establishments, I'm freezing.  I need a hat (keep forgetting to bring one and it's impolite to wear your hat at the table), but it feels COLD under an AC vent.

Ice cubes are nice on a hot day and after a hot shower. A cold blast of air for an hour during dinner is too chilling.

Every day, I love it!

Feels so hydrating and cooling! Although now were dipping below 0*C  I question it's staying power  (*!@

Yep, like that hydrating and cooling feeling. Head is so smooth afterwards.

Are you heading towards winter there ?

Defiantly smooth! Yep.... Winter kicks of in juneish! Probably minus 4 or 5 most mornings!

Where are you in the southern hemisphere ?! Sounds like the Antarctic !

Lol it fells like it sometimes!

In Australia, Canberra (the Capitol) lol

We get all the seasons! Cold in winter and high 30’s in summer! It's a great place!

I tried, but I don't think I did it right. I did it after I already had lotion on, it worked well for getting rid of the excess lotion.
I shave after I shower and if I brought ice upstairs before hand it would surely melt before I had a chance to use it.

Agreed. And here in London, UK we're enjoying a May mini heat wave : 26c (whatever temp that is in american money !)

Thanks. The flowers are from our garden. Picked them for my birthday party.

Even if ice worked, I am too lazy to take ice cubes to the bathroom. I would need a little freezer in my bathroom to make ice if I went that route, LOL.

Better yet, put a snow cone machine in the bathroom. Leave out the sugar water.  Now give yourself a shaved ice head rub.

I'm with you. There are limits to how much effort I'll go to in the interest of sly.

I tried the ice cube thing once after shaving, and other than making my head extremely cold, it didn't do much for me. It's great in the middle of a hot day, though!

Just started this last week.  I've noticed my head is noticeably less red then normal, however I have also started getting it that groove where my scalp should be getting used to the shave.

Either way I like the feeling of the cool down since I did notice my head did feel rather warm right after a shave.  Think i'll keep it up.

Just curious and was wondering, for those of u on here who use Witch hazel, have u been icing before or after applying?

I don't think it matters one way or the other, though more often than not, there are two different ways I do this

1. Witch hazel, Ice cube, St. Ives (when I have extra time) all at the sink OR
2. Ice cube, Witch Hazel, Osage Rub (when on the go) In this case I shave in the shower.

Everyone may not do it like I do it, but more often than not, I am left with a nice shine and almost nonexistent razor bumps using Ice Cubes and witch hazel no matter what sequence. Good Luck, Guys!

I've tried something better just using ice water and it is the best after a head and face shave fill sink up with cold water add ice cubes splash ice water on the shave area very refreshing and the after shave has cooling feel to it as well
