I'd just like to state, for the record, that I think what SBG (and a few other like minded sites, e.g. haircutsformen.com) are doing. Namely, they are making it acceptable for men to discuss grooming/fashion/etc. in a (usually) mature and civilized manner without fear of being labeled effeminate, etc. Grooming is performed by all mammals and we are no exception. And usually it is the males that do most of it! However, humans, by virtue of our sentience manage to get things so screwed up that we actually feel bad for normal biological functions. We all want and need the same things (google Maslow's Heirarchy sometime) and one of those is to feel normal or accepted. And since we no longer have to directly compete for mates (and let's face it women don't know what they want anymore than we do), there is no reason to make each other feel bad. At least, not for our grooming habits.
The reason I wrote this is due to the recent posts by some members stating that they not only groom the hair on their heads and faces but also the rest of their bodies. And they have received some harsh responses. The message then is, "it is okay to concern yourself with the hair on you head to the point of obsession, but not from the neck down." Is this right? Even I've been guilty of this. My post regarding hats has been very popular and yet I started it with a critique of another SBG's choice of headwear (although in honesty I was mainly critiquing his technique, but that's splitting hairs).
This site does so much to boost the self-esteem of those with MPB, I would hate to see it stop there.
Sorry this is so long and rambling, I'll get off my soap-box now.
