In the near future I'm going to get a really short haircut (maybe #2 or #3 clippers) and eventually it's all coming off. I'm actually somewhat looking forward to going sly and not ever having to worry about hairloss again!

Welcome, Tom. What you're describing is the first step on the way to SLY and the freedom from worry about what the future holds for your hairline! Keep us posted.

Tom, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!  I'm glad this site has helped you out and that you joined up.  We're here for you when you decide to make the move to complete slyness, but in the mean time, stick around and have a good time.

Welcome Tom.  It sounds like you're already excited to see what the buzz looks like, so I say, why wait a month?  Go to your local Sport Clips, etc. and ask them to buzz it down.  I'm sure you'll love it, and then you'll be that much closer to shaving it slick.   O0

Thanks for all the responses guys. This really is a great site.

Stu, I am definitely eager to get the buzz cut but I want to wait a month because I'm taking a week off work then for vacation. I feel like that way I'll have a week to get used to the new haircut and feel comfortable with it before I go back to work. I'll let you know how it goes.

Tom, welcome to the SBG site, good to have you here.
One thing I will say is get it done sooner if you can, once you buzz it down, you're going to want to go lower and lower. I remember starting with a 2 on top blended into a 1 on sides. Didn't take long before I was down to a 0a buzz all over.

Another thing, if you do it sooner, you will save yourself a lot of time. Especially when you say to yourself, "I should have done this sooner!" , and believe me, we've all said it, lol.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Get it smooth!    O0

You'll never go back.  You will find that once your dome is liberated of all that bulky hair you will pick up an additional 6th-sense.  You can tell where the wind is coming from,  since strangeness in the air .. it's pretty cool .. plus,  nobody will ever accuse you of finding your hair in their food!

Hey Shane this has actually happened to me not too long ago....was at a restaurant...and I was like ..ummm ma'am...this could not even remotely be mine...and I pointed at my head.  Needless to say she said she could recook my order and I politely refused......ended up getting the whole family for free....

Tom...yes buddy...thats cool.  You need to just do the deed and just all in one day...shave it down and then grade that stuff down..use the weed eater around the edges and you will not believe the feeling you will have once you just do it.  You will be a daily shaver for sure.  Just a feeling you cant get enough of...Good Luck post up a pic let us know how it goes..

Welcome Robb ... and you've got a name that is quite popular on this board!  Be sure and post up in the intro section.
