Your first crush
« on: February 08, 2008, 01:43:34 AM »
Do you still remember the first person you had a crush on?  Do you still talk to that person?

Due to social networking, I recently got back into touch with the girl, now woman, that was my childhood crush.  I'm over it now, especially being married to the love of my life, but I found it kind of funny that we're back in touch.  Do any of you have similar experiences where you still run into or talk to your childhood crush?

Yeah, she's also married and is now a doctor.  The last time I saw her was at our 10 year HS reunion, but before that was probably graduation night of HS, though I was way over her by the time I got to HS.  I was just cruising my social networks and saw her as one of my friends and it took me back a bit to the elementary school days.  Then I thought, "hey, that might be an interesting question for the boards."

Yeah, I remember, Christy. I haven't seen or talked to her since eigth grade. Funny, I was just thinking about her the other day wondering what she was up to.

Not sure definition of "crush", but I guess the one that might fit the definition I do keep in contact with.
She's married to a really good guy, has two boys, and a great job. We were better friends than "something more".

My first crush was in Debbie in the 2nd grade.   :@` She had long blonde hair and freckles. That was in 1972 at a DoD school in Lajes Field Azores, Portugaul. I haven't seen her in 38 years, but I remember her like it was yesterday.

My first "crush" was my high school sweetheart, Barb Sutherland... I chased her for a year before we started dating!

My first one was Britney. (The famous/used to be hot but is now a disaster Britney wasn't born yet)

It was third grade. I was young, innocent, and with a full mushroom of blonde hair myself.
She had long, straight, flowing blond hair. She sat at a 45 degree angle from me. (1 row over, 2 up) I used to watch her take notes. It was like watching an artist painting a masterpiece the way she drew her "B" for Britney. Then one day, as if by the will of the gods, we were paired up as partners for a classroom assignment. She smelled like sweet, flowery goodness. At one point, she touched my back in a flirty way. It was as if her finger was full of novicane. I felt a warm spot near the part of my back where she touched it and a warm feeling slowly filled my body. I became paralyzed and could not speak. (almost like too much beer)   Then, because of my non-reaction, a second flirty touch on my upper back turned the warm feeling into COMPLETE PANIC!

Here was this beautiful creature trying to show her obvious liking of me and all I could do was start sweating and mumble a few words. It came out like "I AHAAHAUUUSMMMD FHDISDAKLF ASDDADSFLJA SDGGAS too?"
Needless to say I couldn't even bring myself to buy her chocolate milk in the caff.

Throughout my school years, I would see Britney again. I had the pleasure of having her in my science class in 7th grade. I had earned a few stripes by then, but was in no way the stud-muffin with raisins that I am today. So I was able to talk and flirt with her but it never went beyond classroom doors.

By high school she was a complete knockout and had about 457 and 1/2 guys chasing her. She settled on a guy with a very short crew cut (military buzz) and stayed with him for the last two years of high school.  Maybe that's why I shaved my head only a few short years after. But I digress........

Here's were fate was cruel. Her boyfriend was my arch enemy. He was a star football player and the fastest person on the track team. I was the second fastest runner...second to him. I wanted to beat him so bad, but never could. It was like racing Hermes himself (the Greek god with wings on his shoes for those having a few cocktails) This guy actually had wings on his shoes!

So what ever happened to Britney? Well spring of senior year we were playing flag football in gym. (I was lucky enough to have gym with her.) Anyway, I dominated the game with my speed. I even had a nickname.."THE CLAW" because I could grab the flag off anyone before they ever scored. Britney, in her wonderful gym shorts of deliciousness, said to me one day in June, as I had clutched a flag in my hand making our team 8 and 0, and ending the school year, "Noner you are awesome, you should have played football." Those were the last words I ever heard form her.

Now I've had many Lay-days in my life, but still, when I see a small green flag hanging off of a rope belt, I always think of her.

Thank you and goodnight!

My first crush ended up being my neighbor right  after i got married.  Never really seen her much throughout my school years as she ended up going to a different school.  She had only lived next door to me for about 2 months.  It was a week before Christmas and she had her two sons with her....i would say ages would have been 3 and 5...anyways she was on her way back from christmas shopping and she rounded a curve and a car was on the wrong side of the road and hit her head on.  Her children, herself and the driver of the other vehicle didnt survive the accident.  To see something like that happen is just terrible.  She was a great person and my wife even started to buddy up with her....jokes were always made about me having a crush on her...cause i ended up actually so called dated her.  If you wanna say 4th graders dated...she was my girlfriend.  What was funny was that she still had this cheapo bubble gum machine necklace that I gave her.  Her mother found it in her scrap books when they were cleaning out her stuff.

Mine is in prison, turned out to be a drug dealer, was a straight A, Valedictorian, sports jock in HS. What a shame.
