Rick are US Citizens who do not pay Income Tax eligible for this special stimulus package?LOL
Jdog - they've mentioned that illegal aliens may qualify to receive rebates, so why not a citizen that's living abroad. I've prefer that over the illegals ...
I heard an interesting discussion about whose economy this package will really stimulate. That is, if we all spend our rebate checks on goods manufactured in China, their economy gets the boost.

The whole thing is kind of awkward. People that don't pay taxes will get a rebate! Stupid, Stupid STUPID!
Not sure what we will do with ours. We have talked about taking the kids to the beach. We can go early fall and everything is much cheaper. Went the first week in October two years ago. was great

Hmmm, if they can track them down to GIVE them the check that means they are probably paying taxes to our economy...
I think the "under the table" one's wont get it anyways.
Nothing political here, just a way to look at it....

I try to dial it in to where I don't get too large a refund or too large a bill.
It's never perfect, but why let the government use money you worked for when they don't pay you interest for it?
I actually prefer it where I owe a little at tax time.

Very good point! Though, I think he was referring to the tax credit we're supposed to get mid year.

OH you talking about the May rebate.....well we are using ours to go towards our mission trip to haiti. ...By the way..that mission trip is Oct 10-19 so if anyone wants to make a donation towards sending my daughter and I to Haiti, it will be welcomed. We have fund raisers all thru out the year....with alot of give aways and stuff like to help raise money for it. This year we are going down there to help pour concrete for the floor of a church the academy is building. I need to post some pics up here on what we did while I was in Haiti last April. see ya

Oh, it all makes perfect sense, they just need to name it properly... The Tax Rebate and WELFARE Stimulus package. People forget that they are getting their own money back which has been confiscated from their paychecks. Those who aren't paying taxes might feel bad if they didn't get some money too (paid for, of course, by taxpayers). Call it what it is, Washington -- another vote buying scheme in an election year.

Right now there are just a bunch of joists where a second-floor deck used to be. I'm gonna stimulte the local economy by having the deck rebuilt.
