I'm with KollegeKreed on this one.  I too, own, and have tried the HeadBlade, but it's just not for me.  Works great for the top of my head, but once I get to the sides and back, it just ain't cuttin' the mustard.  I'm sticking with my Mach 3.  I go against the grain all over.  I guess it's easier on top, since my hair was leaving me anyhow, but the ears....yeah, that's a real pain in the ass.  I aim for perfection all over.  True that most people aren't going to know if you're 100% smooth just above the ear, ect, but i'll do the "headrub" and realize that it's rough, and it will throw me off.  But, like Timmy said, everyone is different.  It doesn't matter HOW you get there, it's THAT you get there.

I"ve tried it once and I"m effy on the headblade but I guess that I have to practice some more.  But I must say that it was better than my disposable razor.

I'm sorry bros, I hate the HB.  I've tried it numerous times and it just doesn't cut it for me.  I prefer the Mach3 - I've tried Quattro and Fusion, but Mach3 does the best for me.  I salute those of you that love your HB but I got so tired of fooling with it I gave mine to Timmmmmmay.

I just started using the HeadBlade sport probably about 3 weeks ago.  The atras did a number on me!! Im not sure I'll be using them until I get more comfortable.  On the other hand the sensor excel blades are awsome!!

Hey parksie, welcome to SBG's! good to have you with us.

Good choice in using the HeadBlade, it is the best tool for the job. I know some of the other bro's have had a rough time with the Atra's too. Luckily, I don't, and they are my fave with the HB.
The Sensors are easier on the scalp in the opinion of a bunch of the guys here. I say use what works for you. Keep up with the HeadBlade and you will find it just gets better and better. It seems to me many guys give up too soon. Once you get used to the feel and movement needed for the HB, it's just becomes natural. Maybe then you can give the Atra's a try again. Also if you get a chance, try the HB doubles, they work well too.

Good luck, and keep it smooth!    O0

Scott, no apologies necessary. The ends justify the means in this case. If the Mach3 is your weapon of choice, it's all good.

Since we've all shave our faces (me for 30+ years), we can tell when a shaver isn't. I agree with you. The Headblade works great on the top of the dome but on the back my buck knife would be better. I'm going to try some different blades with it to see if that helps. It's only been 4 days but the smooth feel is a lot better than the lava rock feel. Tho the wife likes it on her feet. Don't ask how we got to finding that out.

Hey all I told you I would finally buckle and try just a razor....it was like I was in a foreign country.  I couldnt keep the blade flat on my noggin.....it just felt awkward as hell.  I truely did try it though....but ended up finishing off with the HeadbladeSP...
I will just resort to the ol saying...If it aint broke...dont fix it.

The first time I ever shaved my head, I thought I would use a normal Fusion razor, however I found it very awkward to get the back of my head. So I said, you know what, let's try out this Head Blade. Fell in love with it ever since. I shave with the grain on the top and back, so the HB is easy enough for that. And then on the sides, I basicall go sideways, so like from my temples towards the back. No complaints yet!

I was sitting around the other day doing my media mogul stuff (drinking beer) and decided to try a modification to my head shaving, which I've discovered is every 2-3 days. I use the HB like a lawnmower (best description), slow strokes and then trim up with a Gillette Mach 5. Once you get used to the HB, it's 1 stroke and you have a 1 inch swath through the forest of fuzz. It seems to be the speed that you go has a lot to do with the number of strokes needed to get to smooth skin.

I'm thinking about building a 20 blade razor for the ultimate close cut.

Man, I toyed with the idea of getting a Headblade for so long. Tyler, you finally convinced me to try it out. I love it. I got the sport model and use the triple blade. So sexy smooth...
Thanks for the tips. I had it memorized and started the shaving with more than a little trepidation. But all the fear was unwarranted. Seriously, now. It was the easiest shave I ever had.

I honestly wish I could use the Headblade, I have one... the motion is just natural, however it's not for my head. Guess I have too many skull bumps or something, not sure. After the last gash though, (worst ever shaving incident) I'll never use it again no matter how much I want to give it yet another shot.

Has anyone had trouble replacing the blades? I use the Sensor blades, and I went to replace it today, could not get it to stay on the adapter. It kept sliding right off. Any similar experience or advice?

I found it a bit tricky to get them off, but putting them on was never a real big deal... I wonder if you broke it? Must be a fairly common thing since they sell replacement adapters in packs of 3 I believe.

Worth checking.

Wow I'm a moron. I had the adapter on backward. I simply flipped it around and bada-bing, bada-boom, we're good to go.  :/O
