After trying the original for the second time, I think Headblade needs to put a warning on it:

"For especially coordinated men ONLY!"

Shaveme, Don't get hung-up on the headblade.  I've had the same experience as you and finally decided that it's just not worth it.  I know there are some guys that really love it, but there are equally as many that are just like us and can't get the thing to work for us.

Remember it doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you get there.  The Headblade is only a razor, and not the only way to a smooth shave.

Best of luck,
Rick

Shaveme, don't get discouraged, and definitely don't give up on shaving!

The Headblade is a wonderful tool for the job, as I always say, but it just doesn't work out for some guys. I have used it since I started shaving the dome (Aug. 2), and I have not had a problem at all. If you follow the instructions and take your time-go slow!, you should not have much trouble. There is a learning curve of course, but it will come to you. I first had trouble using my left hand for my left side, but as I said with time I now have no problem and I can get pretty darn close to the ears. It's basically about feel. I shave in the shower with no mirror. It feels very natural now.
With time you can get it too. Either way, don't give up on the smooth noggin!.

Not giving up XNY, just probably giving up the HB  ;D I love it for the top of my head, its the back and sides where it just doesnt work for my dexterity...and even doing it the right way (i think) I had to shave the same areas four of five times today.

In the "How to Headblade" Videos ive seen no one seems to go against the grain on the sides and back of there heads. Is that something you guys do as well, or do you go against the grain on your whole head?

I go front to back and then back to front.  To go completely against the grain on my sides would be to go from the bottom to the top, but I still get smooth enough without doing that.

I always start bottom to top right side, back, left side, then front to back right and left sides, and side to side on the back, then front to back on top, and then side to side from both sides on top. That's pretty much against and around the grain.

Yeah, this is what I was always wondering about too Tyler.  That's the reason I have had the love/hate relation ship with my HB this whole time.  It wasn't really the front, top, and back of the head giving me problems.  I would hardly ever get nicked up there.  It was the sides that were messing me up.  Especially behind the ear, of course.  But it's like I could never get the sides completely smooth unless I went up from the sideburn/ear line towards the crown of the head.  But doing this with the HB, or any razor for that matter, always irritates the crap out of that area.  So I've been trying like you said on here.  Just front to back, back to front all around and it has made things less irritated on the sides.  But they are not perfectly smooth if you know what I mean?

I know what you mean, but it's close enough for me because someone is rarely going to rub from your ear upwards and that's the only way it doesn't feel smooth.

Having shaved my head I turn the blades resp. insert the triple blades in the other way in my HB sport and shave my face.
Thereafter I do the round-the-ears-shave, cut the "earbrows" (like Marz said) and go over the temples from bottom to top against the grain. So the whole noggin is slick as a baby's butt.
