But the numbness is an awesome feeling. Its just that your skin isnt use to not having the hair on it....but be careful.....seems like once you have shaved....your natural radar is gone...so expect to bump your head from time to time.  Like me...I have lived in my house for over 10 years and have never bumped my head on the air ducts down in the basement....for a while there I was constantly hitting my head on it...why?? Hell who knows....guess im just not careful.

I'm yet to shave my head, but it seems kind of scary.  How come I am fearless when it comes to shaving my face, but when it comes to maybe slicing my head, I am freaked out?

Don't worry Cory, I was fearful, then freaked about the numbness.... but I can tell you the fear will dissapear quickly!
Oh, welcome to SBG!
Why is it that you have numbness? I just shaved my head today after sitting on the fence for a lil while now and found the numbness weird.  :o Does that go away or will it always feel numb?
Oh and i triee the head blade but found it difficult and used my fusion but even after going over my head several times with it and Head Slick I still didn't get my head completely smooth. I thought I did but after it was all said and done I still felt some stubble in areas.

Welcome Ryebread!
Your hair grows at slight different angles, so some areas you will need to go up and down or side to side to get completely smooth. After a few shaves you will learn the best shave for you, you have to experiment.
I think by the third shave I pretty much figured that out and started getting quicker in my routine.
And yes, the numbness will go away soon and you will miss it.....
PS.. Bald looks good on you, great choice  O0

I don't remember numbness at all; maybe it was too long ago.  I never really had a fear of the actual shaving.  I knew I would have to be careful.  I was more apprehensive about the aftermath... what would people say (if anything); what would it look like being completely exposed?  Maybe the fears about the shaving experience aren't really there, CoryRudy, and it's the other concerns that are really making you apprehensive.  The only way to know is just to do it.  Perhaps you should do the gradual buzz to get your confidence up.  Good luck.
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Tim brings up a good point of your natural radar being gone. Yesterday I leaned under my desk to plug my cell shone charger in and *BANG* hit my head right on the corner of the damn friggin desk. Didnt even know it was there!

Thats true.  The first year or so I was shaving my noggin I was hitting it all the time.  Luckily over the years I've learned to pay more attention to the things I am crawling under.

My Wally World just started stocking the HeadBlade again.  Is it *REALLY* a superior shave?  I don't know,  I'm on the fence.  I have found that moving from the Wally World brand to the 9-dollar brand was a huge improvement.  I'm just not sure the HeadBlade is superior enough to make another change.  I need some convincing .. is it clumsy?

SlickShane, there is no doubt that using the HB can be very akward and can be difficult to get the hang of. Your natural reaction is to want to push down on the blade as it goes over the scalp and I believe this is the single reason why so many people give up on the HB.

I only had trouble on the first day I used it.  The most important thing to remember is keep pressure on the wheels.  Use it everyday and by the 2nd week I will assure you ...that you will have your own way down on how to use it.    Just keep in mind everyone is different,......is that right class??? lets repeat it....No one is the same...EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT!  Very good....very good...lol....
Im getting sarcastic....think im gonna go to bed....
see ya
