I also personally prefer the headblade, but everyone's head is different.  I would recommend that a new shaver try as many different products as possible.  You never know when you might find something better than you are currently using.  I finally settled in on a Headblade Sport, Gillete Sensor Excel Blades, Headslick, Baby Oil, and Headlube for my routine, but I would try something new - because you never know...

Hello and welcome! My routine is similar as X's. I use the HB double-blades. It works fine. Enjoy this great forum.

Welcome to the SBG site, PHarrison. Good to hear you are a HeadBlade user. I've used the HB myself since I started shaving, and find it to be the best tool for the job. I have a routine similar to Hierophants', minus the baby oil.
I alternate my HB's; (sport,classic), my blade cartridges; (HB,atra,sensor) and cream/gel/oil; (Headslick, KoS).
Try different things to see how they work for you. But stick with the HB, once you get the hang of it, nothing's better.
