Murph-trodamus

I had some crazy deja vu watching the Giants beat the Packers on an overtime field goal by Lawrence Tynes. The scenario had already been played in my head, as though I knew what was going to happen. I just didn't know where it was coming from. And then yesterday, it finally hit me.

Eddie Murphy!

In the film, "Coming To America", Murphy's character Prince Akeem of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, tries to bond with his fast food restaurant boss with some light sports banter. Little could I have known it at the time, but he manages to perfectly describe Eli Manning and the Giants upset win over Brett Favre and Co. exactly 20 years later.

Says Murphy: "Sir I was wondering, did you happen to catch the professional football contest on the television last night? Oh, it was most exhilerating. The Giants of New York took on the Packers of Green Bay, and in the end, the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big "H". It was a most ripping victory!"
