I personally like the ski hill. I like to ski by myself, and the ski area that I go to mainly has two person lifts, and since it is in a college town, the male to female ratio is very nice(for a ski hill). but anyways, you get placed on a lift with a gal and you have ten minutes to chat it up, find out if she is single, ask her if she would mind you tagging along and next thing you know you are skiing the rest of the day with a gal who is hot(most of the time, you don't find too many large girls skiing). And if you fail the first time, you race down the run showing off as much as possible. When you get to the bottom, you have to get back on the chair and try to start the whole process over again. If you are fast, you can get in 30 runs in a day, and lets say 1/3 of the skiers are women, that means you get the chance to chat up 10 women in a day, and it doesn't come off as creepy because that is what you do when you are on the lift, you have a short conversation.
The second part to this is dressing in a way that is recognizable, wear something bright, that way if you drop off a cliff and are in a visible area, more women are likely to go WOW, and if you have an epic crash, you can laugh about it.
I prefer this method in the winter because I have found that it works.
My all time favorite was I was riding the lift with a little kid, and we were chatting, he mentioned that he was visiting his sister that was in college, he was a pretty rippin little skier but i figured I could give him some pointers, so I gave him a quick lesson on the way down the slope. At the bottom, we ran into his sister and she thought that it was sweet that I gave him a lesson, so on the way up she rode with me, and I already had an in. At the end of the day, I got her # and the rest is history.
