What makes him arrogant, exactly?  His Oprah antics?  He was in love...what do you expect?  In fact, I can almost admire it.  Since the 1980's, he hasn't gone a day without being bombarded with paparazzi and the likes.  If his Oprah antics were a little crazy to you, you have to picture yourself in his shoes.  You can't really blame Britney Spears for having a break down.  Her whole life was being watched.  Tom Cruise is just the same, but has had it for a longer time.  If he is a little crazy, it's completely understandable.  Nobody can handle that type of pressure.

As for his name, it's a little known fact that Tom Cruise's cousin played Ethan in the television series Lost.

Tom Cruise crossed the line into crazy when he decided he knew more about post partum depression than all the doctors out there in the world.

I'm very open minded when it comes to Religion, however, I do not like his religion of Scientology. I don't have a problem with his being a Scientologist but I do have a problem with him using his celebrity to push his views down people's throats. If you don't believe that Scientology is a case study for Religious craziness, you should read some of the book that just came out exposing Scientology and Tom Cruise for what they really are.  If he wants to be a part of that craziness then fine, but he shouldn't speak on issues that he is not educated about. People's lives could literally be at stake.

The fact that his wife is "hot" doesn't mean diddly......

You should read about why Penelope Cruz left him......

I used to be a big fan of his but I won't spend a dime on anything related to him since he sort of went over the edge.

Not meaning to offend anyone on here.... as usual.... just my opinion...... ;)

Yep.  That's where I kinda went, "Ahhhh....doooood"

If he is a little crazy, it's completely understandable.  Nobody can handle that type of pressure.

Before we feel too sorry for Tom and these folks......remember, every pay increase in ANY field comes with added responsibility, pressure and occupational hazards.

If I had his paycheck, I'd figure a way to handle the pressure.

Some of these knuckleheads--and I've met plenty of them--bitch and moan about being in makeup so long......ahhhh, po babay....

For $4,000 to $8,000 an hour, I wouldn't bitch about sittin' in a chair for 3 hours and have someone tend to my needs.

***sigh***

In the mid- to late- 70's Kirsty Alley was a close family friend.....before she got into movies.  In the '80's she was by then a rising star and good friends with lotsa celebs....we got to meet a bunch of movie-folk.

Couldn't disagree more!!!! There are tons of people that are megastars and you NEVER hear of them carrying on like idiots. Just a few...
Denzel Washington (class act)
Julia Roberts (I mention her because of her calling the papparazzi out for stalking her)
Sandra Bullock
Tom Hanks (gotta mention him, class act AND HUGE Oakland A's fan)
also, John Travolta / Kelly Preston (husband/wife) ...two other scientologists that seem to take it in stride.

I don't think stardom or insane wealth gives you license to be a dickhead.

There is a difference between those celebrities mentioned and Tom Cruise.  You rarely hear about them in the news.  You hear about Tom Cruise and where he went with Katie Holmes and their baby everyday.  You can only put certain celebrities at this pedestal:  Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan (whom I hate, but that is another matter), Paris Hilton, Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie/Jennifer Aniston, (formerly huge) Ben Affleck/J-Lo/Jennifer Garner, and maybe one or two more.  While I do know that Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington are two of my favorite actors, for some reason, people don't care what they are doing in their life, hence the reason they are not on the front page of the celeb magazines.

I don't hear Tom Cruise and many other actors complaining about sitting in a chair for three hours getting makeup done.  They work 16+ hour days for months for VERY good pay (for the mainstream actors, that is), and they don't complain about it.  What they do complain about is that the free time they do have to spend with their family, they are bugged with photographers and reporters.  Sure, you can say you would be able to deal with it if you made that much money, but it is a lot easier said than done.  Heath Ledger, for instance, couldn't handle the pressure very well, hence the reason he was taking prescribed pills, but they eventually got the better of him (with so many different prescribed medication, it doesn't surprise me).  You'd be surprised how many big time actors are not well because of the status of their life and why people idolize them.  I've been known to idolize celebs, but I do not support the paparazzi.  I am sure it would freak me out and force me to get help, just like I am sure it would do the same to most people.  You can't just say you would deal with it, because you have no idea what type of pressure and depression that could add on your life, if you live like it day after day for years.  That's the main reason why Johnny Depp doesn't live in the United States: he doesn't want his family to be a part of the news and everything else.  You can say that they are in the acting profession, so they can expect to be photographed, but their children don't deserve it.  What type of pressure would that put on a family?

Ok, sorry for ranting, but I feel pretty strongly about it.

I would gladly work 24+ hour days for a year straight for 25 million dollars. I'm sure Tom Cruise's insane enormous wealth must be a tremendous burden to cope with. I cant imagine how hard it must be to wake up in the morning and decide wether to wear the $1000 Bvlgari's or the $1500 Karl Langerfeld sunglasses and head out to your 8 car garage or then make another terrible hard decision of the Lambo or Ferrari.

Give me a freakin break. Talk a walk down any major downtown street in urban American and you will see real suffering. This bullshit about being photographed too much is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.Get Real !

Well, if you feel strongly about it, I guess you're right.

No need to discuss this anymore since someone threw down the "I feel strongly card".

Schro, calling Tom Cruise a dickhead is doing a disservice to dickheads. I dont think there is a word in the English language to describe him yet.
