Welcome bro!
In regards to the bumps on your head, not only are we our own worst enemy as you've been told, but if I run my hands over my head right now, I feel bumps all over the place. Touching my own head, I've often wondered how they aren't more visible--but mine aren't, at all. Moles certainly are, but most likely your bumps are.. well, I dont know what they heck those little bumps are. But they aren't visible, and don't cause problems shaving.
I too had terrible dandruff and scalp itch prior to going sly, and now its all good. A little lotion or whatever after the shave and everything is perfect.
Also, I shaved for the first time in the middle of winter in Nebraska, where its extremely cold during the winter, and no tanlines or anything. In fact, its much worse if you're out in the sun all summer, then shave, because you might have a tan line then.
Good luck, keep us posted!
Danny~No hair, No dandruff... ANother advantage of going sly!
Welcome to SBG Danny. As for dandruff, I can't answer, but alot of your questions sound familiar.
Here is my original post that could cover alot of your questions
http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=1492.0I also thought I had a hole in the back right of my head, but when I shaved there was nothing there but a smooth scalp. I can tell you its the best haircut I have ever had!!
Hi all... update on the situation at hand,
This morning i got the whole of my head shaved to a grade 2 which was a big change. It does however really suit me and has put any fears of what my scalp will look like with a blade shave to rest. The left side of my hairline does randomly go back a bit in comparison to my right but other than that it looks fine. Just a few months till i shave it for good!
Danny
Great to know you looking forward to being sly Danny, just think, when you shave you won't have to worry about that uneven hair line!!
Welcome Danny!
Sounds like you're on the brink of freedom! Seriously bro, after you do shave, keep shaving for at least a month to give yourself a chance to get used to the new look and routine. It's a big change at first but one I'm sure glad I did... I think you will too!
If you're still unsure try taking it down to a #1 or 0 to get an even better feel of how it will look. My guess is that shortly after you will probably be scraping it all off. It just seems to take over, as many guys can attest to.
If you do decide to do it, give it the time frame we usually recommend and as the Sgt said, to allow yourself (and your scalp) to get used to the new found freedom.
I am sure you will be saying "why didn't I do it sooner"?
Am I right guys?

You hit it on the HEAD--pun pun pun!
It's a great feeling the first time you run your hand over a clean dome ..
