how were U disciplined as a child??

Well when I was a kid I never got whipped or spanked or hit. I just got liberties taken away. Like friends, and Nintendo ect.

But once I hit my teenage years and I misbehaved my father treated me like a man and would want to fight me. We got into alot of shoving matches and exchanged some mild blows but nothin real serious. After a couple of those it actually made me want to not get in trouble. It really made me think twice about alot of stupid choices. I think there should be more of that. When kids realize that there are consequences and parents will follow through it makes them think twice about thier actions.

We actually called them whippings. Later in life did I find out (from my mom) that my dad would step out onto the back deck and privately cry. Hard as nails on the outside, tender on the inside.

I received all three as a kid, my dad  only spanked me maybe 3 times when i was growing up, i received far more beatings and spankings from my mother,my mother grew up in germany during the second world war and she was very strict, my mother mostly beat me if i did anything wrong,  iam single and no kids but when i have my kids i will use all three methods

Ya know there is a difference between spanking and beating.  Even though there are times I just wanted to spank the sh*t out of my kids......1...2.....3..... works everytime.  I spank em.....when they deserve it.  90% of the time it is my hand on their rear end ( occasionally a pop across the mouth when they start getting that smart mouth)  then i resort to the "BELT"  oh they hate thy belt.....lol...

oh the belt, i would have fear if my mother got the belt out, it  would hurt really bad, i hated my mothers belt.

Well... beaten pretty often and restricted to my room.  I showed them though, I joined the USMC at 17!

It's really pretty simple in my house.  I was raised by a fairly strict father who gave it to me as often as I needed it.  And boy, did I need it.  I'm surprised the poor man was able to hold down a day job with all the effort he had to put into me.  The situations were usually all the same.  I'd get into trouble, sometimes on purpose to be rebellious, he'd get his hands on me and the result for me would be . . . 

I later used a similar approach with my own sons who are now 13 and 15.  They're wonderful boys. Well, on a good day.  When there isn't a full moon.

I read an article on Fox.com recently that said if you were beaten   as a child, you were a sexual deviant as an adult  (or something like that).  My guess is, if that is true, there are a lot of S &M pervs in the world!  I think I may have a copy of the article at work. 
I think I used it trying to convince my bosses that they were all a little...different

I come from a large family, there were 5 of us kids.  I was the youngest.  My Mom and Dad had the discipline thing down to a science.  They never spanked, hit or whopped on us, however both my Mom and Dad had "the look".  I swear it was worse than being spanked.  I have no idea where they got it from, but it worked like magic.

Well, I hate to shoot holes in that theory but I'm about as normal as can be in that area... I am however developing the "dirty old man" syndrome!

If I remember correctly, Dad used to spank us on the hind end with ceiling fan blades. The things were made out of flimsy particle board and were about 1foot wide so they had so much resitance, you barely would feel it. But we always put on the best Oscar performance we could so he thought he  got us good.LOL

We usually got the belt in my house.  There were a few bare bottom whoopins, and a few with a pancake flipper or woden spoon.  Usually only when we popped off.  I usually always got out of trouble in the neighborhood, because they all knew it was my brothers who were the "real troublemakers".

I got whooped once in a while as a young kid but as I grew my mom figured out that wasn't going to cut it alone.  So I would get restrictions which worked a little better because I hated things I really liked being taken away from me.  But as some others put it, that only lasted for so long.  Because I would end up breaking restriction after restriction until it just wasn't worth it for my mom to make me stick to the original one.  Damn!  Come to think of it now...I was a pretty bad kid.  Shame on me.
