I want to thank you guys for all the great info. I've been reading for a week or two. I took the leap last night and shaved er down. I had some help. My kids each had a turn with the Wahl trimmer making roads on my head, then I took over. What a liberating feeling. The only down side is that I happened to do this on the coldest day in MN. This mornings temp was -1. I need to go out and get some more stocking caps.

When you're newly shaved, the cold of the pillowcase can come as a shock the first couple of times. By spring and summer, you'll be glad you've become sly. Professor Melon

It's posts like this that really make my day.  Though I really love hanging out and talking to all of the guys on the forum about various topics, when someone benefits from the information here and is able to take the leap from it I get a big smile on my face.   ;D
