Update, and hopefully the last entry in this post.
They identified my friends step-dads body, she stopped by last night and told me the memorial service is tomorrow night and the funeral is Wednesday. We had some discussion on it and she told me where he was found, and I unfortunately knew how they found him from the location. She told me she wanted to know how he passed and if it was quick, but if it was bad she wanted to be lied to. I played if off but told her she shouldn't try to look into that, just to accept the fact that he died in an explosion and try to celebrate his life and not how he died.
So today my phone rings and she is kinda distraught and said "I know". I felt really bad and told her that I knew and that is why I persisted that she not look for that answer. I gave her my theory as to how he came to rest where he was found and how I believed it was instant. She told me that it made alot of sense and she actually felt alot better after talking to me, which kinda made me understand that even though I have had no clue how to comfort her, just being here anytime has eased her mind somewhat.
I am saddened but relieved that they can finally put him to rest and begin their grieving process. It has been really hard for all the families of the victims here waiting to have their loved one identified. Here is a link for rememberance:
