Hey Paul,

I noticed that the thread had gone dead, but I read your goal about quitting smoking and I wanted to say it is a really good goal.  I have heard that there is a surgery you can get that is fairly inexpensive and effective.  Here is what I could find that sounded like the thing I have heard about:

I've heard from a lot of people that this has been very effective.  I have heard from a few that it didn't work for them, but I suppose that is a risk of any surgery like this. 

Maybe something to look into, but quitting is definitely a fight worth fighting.
