Tips to prepare for out of state family
« on: January 09, 2008, 12:51:40 AM »
I'm sure you guys have them too.  Those family members who have a mouth as big as a hippo, nosy as an elephant, and as overbearing as a bull, but you only see them once a year or once every few years if you are lucky.  Well, I have a couple sets of those coming in February and they haven't seen my sly look yet.  What are good responses to "why did you do that?" "where's your hair?" "You like that?" "

Feel free to show any other possible sly questions I missed too.  If there's any out there I'm sure they'll manage to think of them when they get here.

Well StogieStang I hope you have thick skin ,if your out of state relatives give you a hard time about it, The only thing I would say to them is that you like it and that is all that matters. They wont really have anything valid to rebuttle that.

Also if you ever get compared to a Cancer patient(which I have gotten in the past), fellow SBG ShySlyGuy said it best, Respond with

"No I am actually a Pisces but thank you for asking"

I have an uncle who lives in IL and he cant stand it that he has lost all of his hair, drives him insane to the point where he wears a topper sometimes. He asked me why I would do such a stupid thing...my response was...Well at least I have a CHOICE!

But my #1 response is...Cause I CAN!

I've found that the best way to prepare for a relative's visit iand to avoid confrontation is to leave town before they get there!

yea I was asked why I did it, not by family they all dig it, but by some friends who haven't seen me rockin' the sly. I just respond with a "why not?" Seems to be a well enough answer.

Actually got to use the "No I'm a Taurus" line the first day sly.  That shut them up while everyone else laughed at them.

I typically say "To show mother nature who's boss around here"

The most cynical folks seem to be the denial dudes, none of which have really gotten in my face about it yet.  They typically ask "why'd you do that?" snidely while staring at my dome, I pause so they look down then return the stare at their 'attempted' covering and then reply.  That shuts most of them up.

Waiting for one to really push it to use the "Because, I'm man enough to do it!" comment with a smirk.   :x!
