new to the board

Hi. I finally took the plunge & shaved my head. I cut off the length with scissors then used hair clippers without the guard. I shaved it clean with shaving cream & a Mach 3 razor. It was alot easier than I thought it would be. No nicks or cuts. The only difficult part for me was in the back where the hair was real thick. I think it looks kinda badass. I'm just nervous what friends & family are going to say (as you can tell by the time of my post!).

Welcome, Jayhawk. What part of Kansas are you from. I take it from your name that you are a KU fan???
Hope ya stay around awhile. Don't worry too much about the reactions. Most of the anxiety is way overblown in our heads. At least that was my experience. I still was nervous but it didn't take long to figure out that nobody really cared that much about what I did with my own hair.

Thanks guys. I am from Salina, right in the middle of the state. I am a huge KU fan. The Jayhawks are living large now. #3 in basketball and sure to be top 5 in football after the Orange Bowl win.

hey Jayhawk...looks bad ass to me bro. Just walk out into the world this morning feeling good about yourself. You can do it.....its a feeling you will never forget. And just be prepared cause there may be a few who will give you bad comments....but they are far and few inbetween....Looks good ....honestly....give it 30 days and then decide.

Welcome JHawk,
You R-O-C-K the Sly look.
No need to be apprehensive about family and friends. It's generally a non-issue.
So enjoy all the benfits of being a SLY brutha~
-ease of maintenance
-it's cooler
-it looks tough and intimidating
-nothing for someone to grab in a fight
-high CDI (Chicks Dig It) factor
Rodger, over and out!

Congradulations, really great look. Family & friends will split on it, most probably okay. You'll be suprised how many people won't say anything. Welcome, enjoy.

It looks great. They'll get over it. Anytime there is a big change bad or good, you'll hear comments. Give it a few weeks they'll come around.
