Out of all the guns I've had the only one I have left is my baby its a H&K USP. It shoots so sweet.

what caliber? i had the .40cal. one very sweet weapon. also had a browning A-BOLT in the 7mm magnum. another fine shooting weapon. i could cover a 3 shot group (at 250 yrds) with a cap from a bud long-neck.

I love the USP .40

I used it to take 2nd place in a shooting tourney out of all the people training to be cops in all of california.....like 800 people.....from border patrol, all the way up to the top.

I just purchased my first rifle.  I got a Yugo 59/66 SKS unissued.  I got it from www.gunbroker.com.  It's going to be at my local FFL on Monday or Tuesday.  I can't wait.

Good choice, Stogie - those Yugo SKSs are great rifles for the money! You've probably got your hands on it by now, huh? How do you like it? :)

Yes, I got the rifle and I cleaned up the cosmoline from it.  I have a picture of it in the oven baking it out of the stock.  Of course the picture of the finished product also.  I took the bolt apart to clean the firing pin really well since it is a floating firing pin and I didn't want to chance a slam fire.  The tab on the extractor pin (I'm unsure if that's the correct name) broke off when I was reinserting it into the extractor.  It holds the firing pin in place like it should but it allows the  extractor to slide out.  Normally the extractor pin has to be removed before the extractor can be slid out.  I ordered a new extractor pin and I'm waiting for that to arrive before I fire it.  I'm guess the worse thing that would happen is that it wouldn't feed the next round in and cause it to jam, but since I'm not in battle I'm going to wait for the new pin to arrive before I take it to the range to fire it for the first time.

Stogie, nice looking gun you got there.

One can never go wrong with a bayonet on the end of a gun too. Glad you were able to sort out the broken pin issue.

Not into firearms, but I have been known to shotgun a beer from time to time.

Oh yeah!  Oh yeah!   :/O  That SKS is a fun piece.  It doesn't have much recoil compared to the average hunting rifle and the ammo is relatively cheap and plentiful.  If you're into plinking and you want something more than a .22, this is the gun to get! O0   I removed the bayonet from mine.  I don't plan on sticking anyone/thing and it's extra weight that I don't want to deal with.

I've been thinking about getting an AK, since it's a newer design and inserting the magazine is easier than on the SKS.

Also, the biggest thing you can learn about owning guns, is to never get rid of one if you even remotely like it.  I kick myself when I think of some of the guns I've sold: like a one of a kind M1911A1, a Ruger Convertible (.38/9mm), and a Savage left hand bolt in .243- back when they were really quality guns.  Also, you can never have enough guns.  :D

I agree!!! Very nice!

I am actually planning on buying a .40 cal and I have been up in the air between the Glock, HK and Baby Eagle.

any input would be appreciated.
