I wish I could make money doing...
« on: December 02, 2006, 02:05:06 AM »
Complete the sentence.  What do you wish you could make money doing?  Notice I didn't ask "what is your dream job?"  Because, no one wants a job!  So, what do you want to do everyday to make a living, earn money, build a fortune or take over the world?

People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

...playing the drums full time.  It's the thing I'm the best at.  Got my first drum when I was 12 (1974).  Started playing on my friends drum kit at 14.  Got my own drum kit at 16.  Got into the L.A. rock scene at 20 (1982).  Made a decent mark during the big-hair rock scene in a band called Letchen Grey...selling about 80,000 records world wide.

Go to Google and with quotation marks search "Letchen Grey" and we're all over the place still.

Got out of the music business in 1991 and started playing on various worship teams (church bands) which I've been doing ever since.

I'm not up for jumping through all the hoops and trying to break into the music business again...especially now that I'm a family man.  But sorta dream about one of those serendipidous or Providential (depending on your view) strokes of luck where someone sees me playing at a church and just walks up and offers me a contract. ***sigh*** It's just one of those things where there would be no learning curve, man....I've been doing it for, what, 32 years.  Below picture is circa '79 - '80 just before busting into the L.A. rock scene (notice the absence of black leather and spandex).

I wish I could make money helping people be happy and successful.
It would be great helping people on a personal basis, listening to their problems, giving them
pep talks, taking them by the hand and pushing them in the right directions in life.
And I'm not talking about being a psychologist or something, more of a coach or consultant, just like
Will Smith in the film "Hitch", but not just in matters of love, but of life.

That would be a noble and beautiful thing, if somebody did that for a living...and you'd never grow tired doing it.

music.

I don't mean being onstage singing and playing. Which I am passionate about. But just to be involved in music that I love to some capacity would be great. Lighting, sound, promo it wouldn't matter.

Photographer for Maxium or other non-nude men's magazines.

Wait, this is actually not a joke. I have a photography minor and I studied 1930's-50's pin-up artists. I think I have a great eye for what sexy is without getting naked or super graphic.

Thank god my major was in marketing.
