Buster, welcome to Sly Bald Guys.  ShySlyGuy sent you in the right direction to learn the meaning behind Sly.  As for your bumps, I have that you're using the HeadBlade sport, but what shaving cream are you using?  Do you go with the grain, against the grain, or both?

Welcome Buster, great to have you join us.   You might want to add two things to your shave routine to help during this winter weather.  Use an exfoliatant before shaving, (a lot of us use St Ives Apricot scrub) this will remove dead skin before the lathering up, and a moisturizer after shaving, like HeadLube or BaldGuyz Moisturing gel.  Both will help you maintain a great sly look.

Welcome aboard.  I shave against the grain and I get those little bumps when I skip a day shaving.  I think it's the hair trying to puch back out.  Anyway, glad to have you here.

Buster, Welcome to SBG's! and glad you joined us.
Stick with it as Nomad said, and it will just get easier and easier. Stay with the HeadBlade and get used to it, it's the best tool for the job.

Prep is also important as Paul stated, use apricot scrub, or try the Headshed (by Headblade), I use it and it works well.
Remember to take long, smooth strokes with your HB, and maybe try going with the grain at first to let the scalp get used to being scraped.
Finishing up, you will want to try different products to see what works best for you.

As Porkster said, parts of you may be more sensitive to certain lotions, so try the ones made specifically for the head shaver. (Headlube, Bald Guyz Moisture gel).
Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.       O0
