Personna TRI-FLEXXX blades
« on: October 26, 2007, 04:23:25 PM »
Not to walk over Sifudaves topic, but here is my review.
First, I went to Walmart to get some S3 for my headblade, after reading every yellow label I realized that Walmart no longer carries them and put out the Personna TRI-FLEXXX blades in place of them. The price for a 4 pack $3.49, so having no choice I decided to try them.
I compared them to the atra and they have a soft rubber guide and a lubestrip, but the rubber guide does not have the 3 rows like the atra, just a mesh pattern.
First shave- I was cautious of the pressure being a new blade, and completed my shave. The blade did not seem to glide as smooth as I am use too, so I put more headslick on to try to slick it. Didn't really help, I think the lubristrip was actually bogging it down.
About 4 hours later I notice my head felt like fine grit sandpaper. Worst shave I have had since I started shaving.
Shave 2- yesterday I figured I would shave with normal pressure to get a good test, bad idea. First run I knicked the top of my head around the crown. So I decided to get rid of that blade and put a new one in. Finished my shave carefully and 4 hours later, same result.
Final shave- Today I decided to try another new blade from the start and not be so gun shy since the nick. Bad idea again. I started at the back and it was ok at first, moved to the front and sliced the noggin again. My skin is still in the razor!! I took my Mach 3 and finished the job, boy does my head hurt.

In all, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for, these blades suck!

Pro's
Cheap
Can be found in stock at Walmart cause nobody will be buying them!

Con's
Worst shave ever
Lubestrip does not lubricate at all
Head feels like sandpaper in 4 hours
Nicks hurt like hell

To sum it all up, these blades suck. If you have no other alternative for your headblade, set it down and get out your Gerber hunting knife, you will get a much better shave.
