Two Christmases ago I got a new Timex Ironman sports watch.  It is not the model I would have chosen, and the face has gotten some pretty bad scratches on it, so I bought a new one last week that I like better.  I'd like to keep the old one for when I'm doing chores around the house and yard so the new one doesn't get banged up too quickly.  I need to replace the nylon strap because the velcro is pretty worn and not doing its job too well anymore.  But I can't seem to find the right kind of strap anywhere - either in the stores or on the Timex websites.  This particular model seems to have been discontinued.  I did find this link which shows what it looks like:

If you look closely, you can see that the strap loops around the lug on one end of the watch like a noose or slip-knot.  The only replacement straps I've been able to find at Target, Wal-Mart and www.voguestrap.com (the company that makes straps for Timex) are the kind that use spring-loaded tension pins. 

Does anyone know where I might find a replacement strap?  Doesn't have to be an exact match -- just something that will work with this particular design.

Razor its been awhile since I've worn a watch but when I was thats the strap I used and they had them at wally world.

I was there today looking for one.  I rarely shop there. I was surprised that they had no Timex straps at all, just a knock-off brand that is designed to fit most Timex models --- which would have been fine if they'd had one that would have fit this watch.

How do you survive without a watch??

You might try Sports Authority, REI or Big 5 Sporting Goods (if those stores are in your neck o' the woods). Or any big box sporting goods store. I bought a replacement strap there a year or so ago.

I wear a watch also.  But now that everyone carries a cell phone with a clock, I know more and more people that are ditching the watch.

Actually, the watch market has been hurting because of people using cell phones as time keepers instead of watches.  I guess they need to make a watch that is a phone...LOL  They could just use bluetooth as the headset.

I still like to wear a watch, but it is nice on the rare occasions that I forget to grab it that I always have a backup -- the cell phone.  Not to veer off the topic too much,   but how many of you panic if for some reason you forget your cell phone at home?  How did we become so dependent on these devices?  It's amazing that we were able to survive so many years without one, and I don't even like to use mine that much.

I left home without mine several weeks ago; the result was that I looked at my wrist all day.  I have a clock in the Jeep and a clock on the cell, but darn I missed my watch!

I hate when that happens.  I can't remember the last time I forgot my watch.  It's been years.  I misplaced my watch a couple of months ago.  I was running late for work and could not find it anywhere, but I refused to leave the house until I did.   My other watch had a dead battery and my sports watch was too bulky to fit under the cuff of my sleeve.  There was just no way I was going to go through the day without a watch.  Luckily, I did find it before it got too late.
