I was at work today and I pulled out my bald guys head wipes to clean the dome, and My coworker was givin me a hard time like WTF!?!?. I told her what it was and we started tolking about products and I came to the conclusion that I use more product on my head now than when I had hair. I thought it was funny, but I will never go back, I'm sly forever. I was wondering if any of you guys had this thought as well???

Time-wise, I know that the 5 minutes shaving the dome is less than the time shampooing and then gelling and combing what was left of my hair. And on top of it, waiting at a barbershop -- or else buzzing it myself (followed by cleaning up all the little hairs) took a significant amount of time.
And if time is $ ... then I'm definitely saving by being SLY.

I agree wit PBurke that it does cost more as far as "product" is concerned. However, like Padre said, time is money. I know that I am spending less time shaving my pate than I was tending to it when I had hair. I'm willing to spend a little more money to save time.

I spend far less time and money on being SLY.

No more hair gel, hair spray, shampoo, conditioner, and haircuts!!
That stuff is far more expensive than my head shave gear.

I kinda miss my dreds. Cause with dreds you never really had to even wash your hair.

Thats a misconception about dreads actually. They are a lot cleaner than they look.

I am about even.
Shampoo and conditioner would get pricey, but so can shave products.
But I dont spend 20 - 40 bucks a month on haircuts anymore...

nomad....good topic.

i used 2 go 2 my barber once a week. so...i'm saving about 50 bucks a month. i would have 2 say that i'm saving more $$$ since going sly.

It's costing me more to shave than it was for haircuts. We have a Wahl Professional clipper and the Lovely Mrs. Schro would give me a haircut every two weeks. However, since I've gone sly, my scalp is extremely healthy and I'm not scratching my scalp all time. To me, that alone is worth any additional expense I may incur in my daily routine.

I spend way more now than when I had hair. Of course the last time I actually had someone else cut it was in 1993, and then I only went about four times a year, I think a buzz was $7. Then I bought my own clippers and buzzed it myself, usually once a week.
Regardless, the slick dome is priceless

. And way better than cleaning up after a weekly buzz cut.

Spend just a little more but well worth it!
More shave cream and razors is about it!
