My mother absolutely hated any of my short haircuts throughout my life. I?ve worn a high and tight horseshoe flat up and every time I got it cut, she would give you a side eye look the one time she saw my shaved head. She was absolutely appalled.!
I used to think a lot of it was because my mother is a teenager was severely ill and lost all of her hair and that really upset her. It did eventually grow back and in fact, she went on to go to beauty school and become a hairdresser that?s how much she appreciate having hair!
But I also think that you?re absolutely correct. Mothers hated when their little boys do anything masculine or macho and short haircuts and beards threaten mom?s image of her little boy.
