@Semi-Sly , I'm just the opposite. I think when I wear a snow white flattop it makes me look older. I guess I think a shaved head is a little edgy and non conformist. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's, the only guys that had a flattop were old men, holding on to a 50's hairstyle. Of course the flattop became popular again in the 90's, and I wore one for a few years then. It's great we see different styles different personally. As I've gotten older, I think less about what people think, and just go for what I like myself. Most of the time I like having a smooth bald noggin!
We've heard many different reasons about our decision to shave off our hair. I've attempted to grow back my hair a couple dozen times but I always find a reason to shave it all off again. One good reason is that I break out in a terrible case of folliculitis mostly on the back of my head. It completely disappears when I keep it shaved, but always returns when I stop shaving. Other reasons I keep shaving is that I love the clean feeling of a bald head. I guess we can always come up with some reasons to keep running that razor over our heads!
@Kromedome , when I break out it's like acne on steroids. Almost like boils. I went to a dermatologist and sfter a couple topical lotions didn't work, she suggested long term antibiotics. I didn't want to do that so I told her I would just keep shaving. That condition is probably the main reason I don't grow back my hair very long. The sores arecquite painful. I suffered with frequent break out for many years, and if was really great when I first shaved my head and it cleared up within a few days.
