Bald dads
Razorhead:
My dad was a Norwood 6 and wore a combover for a long time until he decided to buzz it. When I started shaving my head in my 30s (when I had a full head of hair), he was curious about it. He actually preferred me with a shaved head over a buzzcut.
I didn't know what to give him for Christmas one year, so I gave him a Headblade since he liked my head shaved. I also thought it would have been a good father-son bonding opportunity. He never used it or shaved his head. He gave it to the UPS guy who shaved his head.
I'm more like my grandfather (mom's side) with a NW4. Still a decent amount of hair. My brother still has all of his hair.
I'm curious to know how many of you guys had fathers who went bald or sons who went bald and both sport shaved heads.

My dad wore the most horribly obvious Toupe!

Ah yes, and there are guys who wear them! Did he ever give up wearing it? It seems like there are a lot of Pinterest posting with hair systems these days. And it sounds like they are better made. I'd actually be curious to try one but the cost is crazy. I would be honest about it though! And say 'hey, I do wear a rug!'. it seems like that's the best way to deflect judgment or unwanted feedback. ;D But when I grow my hair out, and see bald headed pics of myself, I always say 'I look better bald' and the razor will come back out. Reality is that my hair is thinning and I will probably end up more naturally bald on top.

Before my dad passed, he was thinning quite a bit, but not "bald" in any spot. But he was only 39 when he passed. I doubt he would have shaved, it was not common at all in that time.

I remember a couple things about my dad. First, he was 42yo when I was born, so he was older. When my brother and I were about 12/13 the Beatles were becoming popular, so we all wanted to grow our hair long. So right before school was out for the summer, me dad took us to the barbershop and ordered us to get a crewcut! He was balding in the crown and thinning in the front. I was so mad about the crewcut, I told my dad that he didn't want us to have long hair because he was going bald. You can imagine how that went over.
When I was 18yo, q had shoulder length hair, and my dad was ALWAYS bugging me to get it cut. He would always point out someons with a crewcut or flattop and want me to get it cut like that. He passed away when I was 21, so he wasn't completely bald yet. When I shaved my head, I thought how my dad wound be happy, it made me smile.
