The flattop was a good look for you. It is one of the styles I always wanted. I tried a few time, but my hair would just lay down and not hold the flattop, no matter what I tried. I could get it looking good for about 5 minutes, then it would return to laying down. Was it a difficult style for you, or did you hair naturally want to stand up?I had similar issue with other hair styles I tried - I never found a style the was both easy to maintain and looked good for my hair. I had too much curl and waves for most styles, but not enough curl for "curly" styles. I just looked messy. So before shaving, I most kept it cut very short just to make it easier. Basically a buzz cut with enough length in front to comb it to the side.

I normally shave my head all winter long because it?s so much easier to take care of and you don?t have to worry about.Hat head!I too have very fine empire and only one or two barbers in the world that could cut the flat top into my hair and make it look right and it?s quite a bit to maintain. I also need a blow dryer etc. so anymore it?s just so much easier to maintain. The flattop required quite a bit of effort on my part because my hair is rather thin and limp. To get the look I really had to use a non-flaking gel, a hair dryer, and a comb. It took 5-10 minutes for me to get it the way I liked.Shaving my head bald? Just a razor, shaving gel, and about 3 minutes. :p This is WAY better for me.
