Back of bald head

Does anyone else like the look of their head from behind with a fresh shave? It is one of my favorite things about the look. It is oddly satisfying.

I look at the back of my head with a mirror a few times every week.  I also like the way it feels after a fresh shave.

You can easily spot a bald guy from the back! The word that comes to mind is "clean".

@reddog dang your head looks great! I thought I need to shave after seeing it. I agree, it is always  looks clean, and sharp. I am almost two months bald and i have started noticing a lot of other bald guys when I am out and about and thinking we all look sharp. You we’re right about being bald becoming an addiction.

@chuck63 nothing beats the feeling of a fresh shave. I wake up in the morning and get excited to shave it clean. I used to be able to go a couple days in between shaves and now its like I have to do it every morning.

Here’s mine.   This was taken after four days of growth.  I’ve had four sessions of laser hair removal and all I have left are white hairs.  I shaved it smooth right after this picture was taken.

@cmac , yes, I can spot a shaved head right away. I often want to strike up a conversation with other bald guys, but you never know if they would want that. If they make eye contact , I might say "hey, we must have the same barber" or "nice haircut".

So many mornings I wake up and think I don't need to shave today if I'm not going anywhere. So, I get in the shower and then think, I'll just shave the sides and back a little. Pretty soon just the top is left, and I go, oh well, and I'm completely shaved smooth. It's probably an obsession, but I'm ok with that!

@chuck63 dang you can really see a lot of reduction in hair. Are you happy with the results? How has the process been?

@cmac I guestimate that i probably have a 50% reduction in hair so far.  I started in May and have had 4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.  I’m happy with the results, but since I’m grey, I probably won’t lose much more.  It’s a lot easier to shave, with smoother results and no shadow.  I’m in and out of the med spa in less than 15 minutes.  The pain level can be pretty intense, especially on the back of the head.  I decided to do this after shaving three years straight.  I thought about it for a long time before deciding to go through with it.

Since the laser will not work on gray hair I could go through that whole laser treatment and still wind up having to shave every day so for me it’s not worth it!  If, on the other hand, my hair still had color and the laser good completely remove ALL of the hair on my scalp so that I wouldn’t have to shave again,  then I would consider doing it.

 I think that laser hair removal is however a good option for a young guy who’s got male pattern baldness and just wants to get rid of his remaining horseshoe that full color and leaves a dark shadow - so he isn’t have to shave anymore that would really be worth it.

I would consider laser too, if my hair was dark. The only thing I think about is, what if shaved heads go completely out of style? I doubt they ever will, though. Things have definitely changed. Back in the 50's, 60's, 70's, almost everyone conformed to the current style. When long hair was popular, there would still be a few older guys sporting a crewcut  or flattop, but people would laugh at them. Nowadays, anything goes for hairstyles. If things change, I'll be the old guy still rocking a bald head, they can laugh all they want!
