Jay Croce was way too nice to you man. Who the hell are you to make assumptions on his life. This is supposed to be a place of positivity, I believe? For you to make assumptions like you have is way out of line. In my opinion anyway. There is a big difference in being straight forward with people and being a total a$$hole.
Jay Croce has done a 180 with his life and decided to make a positive change to live a better life. We should back him on that and offer encouragement. Not make assumptions on a, possible, negative life he may have been leading before.
My post was not intended to be negative at all. Maybe I had a similiar experience in my life and was a caregiver of an elderly loved one.
Maybe I had to give up a good paying career to do so. Maybe I felt the same feelings of hopelessness and frustration as Jay has.
So Lance for you to make assumptions about my life is counterproductive.
If I've offended anyone here I'm sorry that was not my intention. You gents are great. You are always there for everyone and give them the support and praise they need.
If I took your intentions from your post the wrong way then I do apologize. It's just the way it came across. I tend to "jump the gun" myself when it comes to defending people. Sometimes I do need to step back for a minute a think about things before I react. But it's just the way your comments seemed to come across. Plus I do not want to cause any negativity here myself, which is what I talk against so much. Peace man.
What's the deal bro? I know that some people don't believe in candy coating things and thing that being themselves is the way to go. But there is a big difference in being straight forward with people and being a total a$$hole.
Thanks for standing up for me Lance, but Ben was right on target. Yeah, maybe it was a bit raw, but I think he speaks from experience. And sometimes, the only people who understand where you are, are the guys who've been there themselves.
I'll take a cold dose of reality over a warm blanket of sympathy, any time. I hid under that blanket until it almost smothered me. Now my head may be bald and cold, but my thinking is clear.
Welcome to SBGs, Jay!

Incredible introduction Jay, happy things are going well for you!
Welcome Jay!!! Great story and what a turn around in life. If you haven't noticed yet, SLY is a life attitude, not just about baldness.
Max

Yes I thought the same thing...I just left the other post where he was commenting on another sly bro...and then I come here and he is doing it again. I dunno maybe Ben is having a bad day I dunno. We all have them....but dude if you have issues to deal with....just talk to us about it. Thats what we are for ....or am I wrong? This site has really treated me well and helped me thru alot of things...1...encouraged me to stop smoking. So Ben...just give us a shout and talk to us.
Jay..sorry bro..Welcome. Great story ..cant wait to get to know you more thru the post. Sorry you seen the room in the raw right off the bat. Normally its not liek that...just hang in there..enjoy your life...sounds liek you have alot of catching up too do. Great to have you here.
Jay, my hat's off to you for your postive attitude. It must have taken a lot of courage to make such a drastic change in your life (and an incredible friend to keep you on the straight and narrow). I know of 2 people at work who have that surgery, and it's not just a magic cure. There are a lot of major lifestyle changes that go along with it to be successful. Keep at it, and enjoy you new sly change as well. It is very empowering... combine that with what you have gone through physically, and you really do have a new lease on life.
Hey Jay that is a wonderful story that you have shared and my sincere best wishes in your new life.
I know what it is like to deal with weight problems . I know the feeling of just not caring anymore but its great you have over come that.
