Matte For Men
« on: September 26, 2007, 03:53:37 AM »
I noticed this the "Matte For Men" products under one of the product review threads last night.  I liked what I read about it.  So I checked the web site out and read up a little more on the shave gel and all-in-one lotion.  It sounds like some really great stuff.  The only thing that did put up a red flag for me was the fact that both only come in a 2.5oz. tube.  It would seem that you would probably have to replace these quite often.  The price was a little steep for both but I went ahead and ordered them to give it a shot anyway.  If it works as good as it claims then it may be worth it.  I also read a post from another member that had used it and they claimed that they could get by a month or so with the same tube.  So it doesn't sound like to big of an investment.  I'll post up a new review as soon as I get it and try it out.  I believe Tyler posted the first review on it a while back.

I don't know if anyone else uses this product or not but just thought I'd pass along some new info I received from the site today.  Starting in November Matte For Men will be available at Norstrom's.  If anybody doesn't know what that is it's a department store found in select malls.  There is one about 45 minutes from me at our biggest mall in this area.  Depending on how well this stuff works once I get it in the mail I may have to pay a visit to the mall once in a while.  Also they told me that they are working with another retailer to try and stock their product and hopefully it will be available there soon too.  They wouldn't mention this other retailer since the deal isn't sealed yet.

I really like their products, especially the head care lotion.  Mostly because it's a lotion, gives a matte look, and has sunscreen.  The shaving gel works well, but I do think there is better stuff for a lesser price - HeadSlick and Bald Guyz.

Yeah, that's one thing I'm a little concerned about is that both only come in a 2.5oz tube.  Seems really steep when dishing the kind of dough they are asking for such a small tube.  Most likely I will stick with Bald Guyz.

When you do use it, know that you don't have to use that much, maybe a dime size, of the lotion to cover your noggin.  I get about 2 months per tube.  I like the 2.5 ounces because I travel and it is less than the required 3 oz limit that the TSA puts on carry on products, but I would like it if they offered more for the price.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents for what it is worth...I found that since their Antioxidant Shave Gel is a concentrate, it lasts longer than much larger tubes/cans....a little goes a long way!
