Hair Loss in My 20s (w/pics)

(1/3) > >>

tellersquill:
Just turned 30 and I wanted to post a quick little update on my hair situation.

I've been losing my hair since I was 21 but I was kind of lucky because it started off really slow and wasn't noticeable until I was 26. It used to make me very paranoid because I though i'd be ugly as a bald man and I'd never get laid again.

From the ages of 27-29 I really thought it and made and honest go of the big three treatments. For whatever reason none of the treatments worked and I continued to bald at a steady rate.

At 29, after a tough break up I reached a breaking point and in a moment of madness I shaved it all off. When I did I was kind of shocked and I was very much on the fence on how I felt about it. Because it was such a drastic change I ended up taking a bunch of pictures of myself, trying to make sense of this whole new look. I ended up posting one the better pictures on facebook and ended up getting a positive response, and ever since then I slowly began to build a lot of confidence about not having hair.

I'll post some pictures below:

my hair without shaving for a 3 weeks:

At the moment I actually use the toppik in the hair as it makes me look like a fullheaded guy. When It gets thinner In a few years this will no longer be possible and I will return to shaving it all off.

I prefer to have a little hair right now, but I've actually been told I look better bald by some people so I have no worries about shaving.

Anyway, I hope this helps some people who are not sure whether to shave or maybe its just an interesting read to the regular sly guys.

Magoo:
You look good with and without. Your choice makes sense to me.

You are a really good looking guy, with or without hair... beard looks good, also.

Thanks for posting!

Dragon:
Dobber daddy and Magoo are right, you have no problems either way, this is down to your choice (at the moment).  Sly is a strong look for you and is easier than fibre i would have thought.

slybeard:
The shaved look is good on you, as is the toppik.  I an mot familiar with toppik, but it may not be worth the restrictions.  Does it stay on when swimming or doing physical activity?  Isn't the cost high?
